I am having an extraction of my first lower molar - #30. There is a large abscess from the roots down that also needs to be removed. I have seen two oral surgeons. One, says there may be some nerve interference during the surgery. The other, says the nerve is far from the affected area. I am very concerned about a possible nerve injury and don't know whose opinion to believe. Should I insist on having the surgeon order a CT Scan?
