drink lots of water through out the day. Especially in the morning as soon as you wake up drink a glass of warm water with lemon juice added to it, it will help. This worked for me.

Did you ever figure it out? Same exact thing for me and doctors can't figure it out.

Has your issue cleared up? I have had this burning and misery off and on for over a year. I'm hormone starved as I'm several years post-menopausal. I'm also a retired RN and believe me this was not ever mentioned in OB/GYN classes! I've been to a couple docs and a NP. Switched me from premarin vag tabs to another hormone cream because I'm so dry that most of the tabs fall out the next morning. This is maddening! Something that women don't share with other women either. Darn! Have used coconut oil, Replens, 5% lidocaine cream, cold water, and a couple more things ... what in God's name works? Anyone have the key to the secret door?

I'd your skin is raw, you may not have enough moisture, look into Sjogren's disease

I have the exact same feeling. The burning is really unbearable. Just recently I tried to prop up in front of a fan or add ice to a towel. It helped for a bit but burning returned. Then I tried coconut oil, helped for a few minutes and now burning has returned. I noticed that you wrote in 8 months ago. Did you find out anything? I have been to walk in clinic due to severity of burn, obgyn and recently the dermatologist. First answer was yeast infection and BV. Then they changed their answer on that saying its not either. Then they said chlamydia. Then they said its not chlamydia. Then I was told maybe its a nerve. No sign of a rash, no itching, no discharge no abnormal bacteria, no virus. No one knows what's the issue. They prescribed me a cream and when I apply that the burning is then a level 1,000 feels like. I want relief so bad. I cannot recall when this began but I need it to end.

Thanks for the discussion on this topic. I was sent away by the doctor as there is no sign of infection yet I burn daily when I wee. I shall try being more careful with gluten as I relaxed my diet though I am gluten intolerant. I am already on the coil and using any cream makes the pain worse. Ky jelly does ease it a little, but mainly paracetamol helps. Not sure if lidocaine gel is available in the UK. Dehydration is worse, so drinking plenty of fluid.

I had this for 3 years every 1-2 weeks before my period. I also have HPV and abnormal paps and eventually level 2 dysplasia. They did a LEEP last summer and this problem went away. I think my body was fighting the HPV infection by making the environment more acidic and shedding lots of epithelium. I used to work in a lab so I looked at myself under the scope. But a few weeks ago I took an antibiotic for a sinus infection and developed a full body rash and this burning has come back :/ Not even a year of peace. Hopefully it's just a temporary imbalance. Or my HPV has re-established itself since I've been sick for over a month.

I have read every single thread and am so thankful for all this info. My symptoms have been itching and burning of the vulva, labia, and occasionally clitoris and I am either dry or have small amounts of thick discharge that smells like old cheese (too descriptive?). It has been 6 months. When I give in to the itch my labia gets extremely inflamed, red, and painful and the itch gets worse. It is worst the week before my period and accompanied by thin brown/red discharge, goes away during my period, and slowly gets worse over the course of the month. Vinegar baths help for a few hours, rephresh helps for a few days, but it always comes back...The best luck I have had with treatment has been using rephresh the day of or after my period ends. May was relatively symptom free and I think that is why. I did not use rephresh after my June period and now here I am. I also have HPV and level 2 dysplasia (side note: most people have HPV, dysplasia is abnormal cell growth on the cervix). Have tested negative for all other STDs, yeast, and BV. My doctor keeps telling me to wait it out...
Is anybody else experiencing this a vegetarian? It started a little less that a year after I stopped eating meat and a lot of my other research has suggested my symptoms could be related to Candida over-growth in the gut as a result of a high sugar/carb diet (starchy vegetables anyone?). Would love to hear some feedback! Will be checking back.

Get off all medicine you can. Lidacaine cream does help a liitle. . Nothing else works. One time i burned in vagina and rectum. For 4 months horrible burning. Doctors coukdnt find anything. Then i had found out i had a little arsenic in me. You can get it anywhere. So stay from antibotics and seafood. For a while. Mine damaged my kidneys bad. Im suprised to see that there are so many other women dealing with this. Im 23 years old and i had a kidney infection when i was in 3rd grade. I have a long history with UTIs. Im so used to gettig them that i carry around Azo in my purse so im prepared when i feel one coming on. I went to the doctors so much that they ended up referring me to a specialist. After 2 or 3 visits the specialist tell me that there is nothing wrong, i have no STDs, no UTIs no yeast infections and that it is probably just irritated. She tells me to avoid perfumes, lubes, scented soaps and douches and see how it goes. I still have the problem to this day no matter how much i try to avoid it. But i do believe that the specialist was right. Its just irritated skin. Its also more common in women with kids because (lets face it) our vaginas are never really the same after giving birth. Once the skin loosens up a bit, there is easier transport and access for germs. Avoiding perfumes and bath soaps in that area will prevent alot of this burning. You really only need water to wash your lady parts. And also, staying wellllll dehydrated could help too. You wanna drink lots of water to help flush toxins out of your body. And if you are dehydrated, your skin down there could get irritated with such potent urine. Well, there may not be a name for what we suffer from and still no absolute cure for it, i hope this helped yall out

I have also been going through this for 15 months. No infection of any kind. Been to multipule doctors. Finally I got some answers!!! It's a hormonal issue. Go to your doctor and have blood work done and find out what your hormone levels are. Either your progesterone or estrogen is off balance. I didn't think this could happen at the age of 40, but it does. I hope this helps, because I was at my wits end with this problem. Now that I am on hormones it's getting better! There are natural ways of getting help with off balanced hormones also!!! Good luck!

I have been tested for yeast and every STD out there. Still burning to to no end. Finally got some more cultures back and it is called Aerobic Vaginitis: Abnormal Vaginal Flora That Is Distinct From Bacterial Vaginosis.
It is a rare form of infection with a 4 week vagnial cream treatment. Ask your Dr about this.
