constant mild vaginal burning, no yeast infection and no bacterial vaginosis

I went off of my birth control and burning sensation stopped! Something with the amount of hormones must have messed up my system-had been on b.c. for about 2-3 months with irregular periods and burning! So glad to have figured it out.

I have exact symptoms horrible burning and pain. No yeast or uti. Burning is awful and tender inside. It gets better and worse but never goes away. Does anyone know what it is? It flares up and I've packs help some. Please has anyone had a diagnoses.

I have been struggling with this ever since i took AUGMENTIN 875 mg for a sinus infection . NEVER again! Burned so bad in my vagina and opening. I felt for this for a whole month...awful. burned bad. 1st we treated this as a yeast infection even though i never had discharge or itching (I have had these before/I am 32). I took diflucan 4 different times...no relief! I had metrogel left over thinking this was a bacterial issue....nope. I went to my OBGYN who Ibhave seen for 16 years. She ran a bacterial test, STD ( just in case something came across the board from the past) and yeast check....NOTHING!! She stated the area looked a little red, thats it. It burned when i urinated...I then went back to the my primary physician who prescribed me the augmentin and had her test me for a UTI...nothing...they even ran lab cultures..again nothing. I searched blogs..did research everywhere. I tried hydrocotisone cream, vaseline, nystatin cream (which has helped me in other cases but burned like hell in this one!). My obgyn said maybe i have an estrigen problem and put me on premarin cream...no relief on any of these. I was told to try benadryl..and a baking soda bathnothing. I cried..i got mad and i read more. I know augmentin did this to me and came across a few posts from others with no relief or answers. I finally called my physician again last night..crazy for answers. She said try epsom salt bath as i was concerned my ph levels were zapped (will do tonight) I am going tobhave hrr check my levels in a urine test as well. I have an apt for obgyn on the 04/15 and im keeping it regardless. I sleep in a tshirt as directed and i didnt put a single thing of cream on last night because its not working anyway. I tjought to myself if this is a vad and i mean scorching reaction to augmentin antibiotic hell maybe i will try and take some Allegra...about an hour into it...my flaring scorching 45 minute long flare ups..started to die down. Hmmm. Allergic reaction possibly???? Every 6 months i get a Depo Medrol shot to help with bad allergies. I went in this a.m. and got one. I am feeling much better and hopeful that this burning is almost over..its been a painful month and my period on top of it. I am hoping this post helps anyone and doctors that are scratching their heads. I will keepposting on my status. I know the original is a year or so old and am wondering how people are doing...BTW I AM SENSITIVE TO EVERYTHING! . I have used dove sensitive skin and All free, clear detergent and cotton panties for years. I eat well and workout. I have also taken Pro-B capsules thatvhelp restore healthy ph...again have taken that off and on for 6 months or so when i feel like i may have an issue. Its good stuff..Wal-Mart, walgreens, cvs..etc :) I make sure I do everything in my power to not have issues and watch what i do as my mom and daughter are same way. I have looked at posts that dpeak of vulvodynia and other cystitus issues..i do not think that is me. I can touch the are and it feels fine. Its inside the tissue..like nerves or inflammation. My doctor wants me to try Luvena (otc) as well and just see over weekend how i turn out. Fingers crossed ladies...thinking of anyone bearing this. Please shate any stories or helpful advice or what workes for you!! Please!!!!!!

Ok so...im still feeling great....i also went and got Paladine..its behind the counter at walgreens..no script needed. Its a used as a diaper rash, mild burn ointment and itch relief ointment...no scent no anything..i have used on both my children and my physician stated to get on it too. Its $12 & worth every penny!! I feel amazing. Allegra and the depo medrol shot and this cream helped..will be using the Luvena tonight. :)))) sorry for typos...im on my cell :)

Last september my sister passed away and i was under a lot of stress. I ended up getting not only a yeast infection, but also BV and kidney infections as well. I have gone to 2 different doctors and have been on Diflucan and Metro Gel basically since. I do not have any discharge, smell or itch, but there are two red lines on the inside of of vagina that seem to burn very slightly. The major problem is when i have sex (i have been with my boyfriend for over 8 years and we have a very good relationship) it starts to hurt; the only thing that really numbs down there is alcohol. i dont want to be buzzed all the time and try and drink only on the weekends, but i have no idead what is going on. I have absolutly no yeast or bacteria, but these two damn lines will not go away! my Gyno told me to put cortizone on the red spots, but i read that corizone can cause a yeast infection? I am just at my wits end and i cannot keep missing work to make appointments with my doctors for them to only tell me nothing is wrong; its not in my head i swear :) any ideas? oh and i have stopped eating anything with gluten because they say gluten alleriges can contribute to bacteria and yeast overgrowth. Ideas? Thank you

I had the same problem, all test was normal was driving me nuts. The drs had no idea what the feeling was and it turned out my urine was to acidy, I used a bottle of water to dilute the urine when coming out and eventually the burning stopped.

I have had the same problem for years, all culture test always come back normal. UTI no, yeast NO, bacterial No but still had annoying symptoms. Been too every doctor.. I have come to realize that my urine was too acidic so used water in a bottle to dilute everytime I urinated and this helped me. The burning stopped.

Seborrheic vulva. I have had the same issue. It is probably something that only a vulva specialist could diagnose. I went to several obgyn's and they had NO idea. It can be treated with steroid creams (prescription) or oral steroids. It's a skin issue only in the vulva area, so a dermatolist should be able to help.

Having the same issue after Augmentin. My doctor ordered clobetisil, not sure of spelling. She thinks it's an allergic reaction as i too have allergies and psoriasis. How have you made out? Picking up the ointment today.

I have the same problem, its burning all the time, no itching no discharge. My doctor has done all the test and they are negative. I had this years ago and estrogen pills helped so much. This time my doctor does not prescribe that.I go mad.

I know exactly what it is. It is vulvodynia. I had the same experience two years ago. (Although when I think about it I probably have been suffering on and off for years.). I saw three gynos that could not diagnosis it. They checked for everything, all sorts of infections and diseases, even doing a biopsy of the vulva skin. After the third one suggested that it may be vulvodynia and that there is no "cure" I almost went crazy. After doing my own research I found a vulvodynia specialist in my area. Dr. Jay Trabin. By the time I saw him I was loosing my mind. The burning was so bad and almost constant. My first visit he prescribed gabapentin and a diazepam suppository that I had to go to special pharmacist to have filled. I took them both at night as prescribed and by morning I began experiencing relief. Within a week all symptoms were gone. In the past two years I've had what I thought was going to be a flare up and started taking the pills and suppository again (I went off them about a month after all symptoms were gone) and within a day or two the symptoms stop again. I hope this helps someone going through what I went through.

I just figured out that I'm allergic to my Spermicide that I used with a diaphragm. I'm basically allergic to nonoxynol-9 which is in all spermicides and most condoms. It causes burning pain and major inflammation for several days. I used an antihistamine for a few days and that helped a little but really time will heal the damage to my insides. I have been using it for several months without even knowing what was wrong. Went to the dr a few times and she didnt know what was wrong.

Karen! I had the exact same thing after receiving a pelvic exam. And it keeps coming back I'm going crazy!! Have you figured out what it was?
