Now it's back and I think its from eating sesame seed bread. It is very annoying and toxic. I just can not seam to get rid of this smell.
I go outside and it is still there. I know that I have had allergies in the past and that I may be more sensitive then others, but this is out of control.
I have had this issue in the past and I am 64 yrs old and in very good health.

After about a week the chair gassed off and I found that sitting in the chair didn't cause this unusual smell in my nose.
However, I have observed that this odor reoccurs when under stress and /or after eating highly acidic foods such as raspberries, oranges.
I don't understand what happened unless the fumes from the chair were toxic and haven't left my system.
A point of interest occured when a friend of mine explained that he had the same struggle with this unusual smell. I was contacted two weeks after he expressed his concern regarding the smell and was told that he had cancer throughout his body.
I had bowel cancer nine years ago and can't help but wonder if this could be connected to a reoccurance of cancer as well. I also wonder about the ph of the body and my ability to neutalize acid.

I have it narrowed to two possibilities. This is with constant doctor cnsultation, am awaiting the final blood tests. Background: I began this smell 5 months ago - the time I began a new job that required extreme mental focus and fast pace. I have ADD and this is my cup of tea, as I hyper focus, amazingly. I have a diagnosed history of anxiety, which I've never believed, but roll with it not to make myself look anxious. In the new position, this smell of ammonia was outrageously intense. In the beginning it was the worst- headaches would be the result. I began fearing I smelled, which is not the case (screw this muscle wasting theory. It's not me). I then would announce the smell, probably appearing crazy, and it ruined my quality of life, now and then. I then got strep throat, and went to see an urgent car doctor. It was a good opportunity, as there was no anxiety background. I had strep throat, but an intense pain in my throat, ultimately my thyroid gland. It is huge. I'm a male and just thought this was the deal, but when he put force on the thyroid, I was hurting badly. ( My hands shake, hyper a night slow in the day, anxiety which he mentioned - bastard). My smell has subsided a lot. I have begun smelling it only a total of 3 consecutive hours a day; compared to, the six to eight hours, in the beginning. I did taste it for a few day, an atrocious drip. My thyroid is going to be addressed. The doctor is going to test for diabetes, I should mention, I would be dizzy a substantial amount, after standing up, a need to lazy down a lot and then periods of fast paced chaos. I had suffered muscle cramps in my feet, hands, back, and calves. My finger and toe joints had an undescrible ache to then, in mostly my pinky and rings fingers, on both hands. These symptoms were all very apparent, and increased with intensity as the smell started. This has explained a lot. Around four years, I have physically impeded - I do stuff but I exhaust out of nowhere, which I combated with ADD medication.

Anthony, you're in my prayers buddy. I don't have any of that, but have the smell now going on 9 months.
Tried the nasal flush, thought it was working, but only for an hour, that's not good enough. Cut back on sweets, sugar, nada. Keep trying to find something.

I have been smelling super glue every where i go for the past week. No one can really give me any information on what it could possibly be. Is there anyone else having this problem? It's beginning to make me nauseous and sometimes dizzy/light headed. If anyone has any information on whta it may be, please let me know!

Ok, I have to first admit that I can be somewhat of a hypochondriac, but my husband helps me rein that in.
I've noticed that I occasionally smell ammonia, not on my body or part of my surroundings, but in my nose. Googling it has not brought me any real solutions, but my husband's keen memory and pattern recognition have provided a very likely culprit.
I get frequent migraines. He noticed that along with some of my other pre-migraine symptoms, the ammonia smelling also sometimes preceded a headache.
If anyone comes across this thread in their search for a cause, you might want to look at migraines. If you suffer from migraines and get this smell one day, then have a migraine within the next 72 hours, I think you've found your solution.
Incidentally, my mother used to smell spaghetti sauce before she got a migraine.
And just in case anyone else has this smell and migraine headaches, one of my other weird symptoms are a single watery eye. My right eye, and only my right eye, will water for 12-72 hours before a migraine. Once I realized this, I started taking steps to try to prevent the migraine. Less computer work, lower levels of lighting, keeping my home cooler, getting more sleep and eating bland foods. In some cases I can prevent the headache. It may help you to keep track of any odd things that happen to you and see if they at all coincide with a migraine within the next 72 hours.
Hope this helps!

Yes, that is the smell that is in my nose (or sometimes it will smell like vomit). Not so much amonia but more like a strong odor you smell near a pool. When I google chlorine smell in my nose. I don't find much. Instead I get a list of choices to do with allergies to chlorine.

I just came across this forum by accident, while searching for info about permanent markers.
To put my own two cents in, for many years now I've found that a smell like ammonia or chlorine is usually my first indication of a cold coming on. When I smell this odor and no one else does, within the next day or two I'll start experiencing a runny nose, sore throat, and sneezing. I don't know what causes it, but no one else I've spoken to has the same symptom.

Its mold. black mold. and it is all over the insides of your walls. Has nothing to do with you. You are experiencing the symptoms. My landlady had to be sued to get it fixed.
