continous periods lasting longer than 5 months

Here's another A, I'm Angie :). I have been to the doctor numerous times in the past year due to irregular periods and bleeding. I was like clockwork until last February. Now I can go 2-3 months without a periods, finally have one that lasts a month or more, some very light and some feel like I'm bleeding to death. I've had pelvic ultrasound, biopsy, and Pap smears. Everything was normal! They want to do a Mirena, but I've heard horror stories about those. Go to the doc again this morning, since I've been bleeding for 6 weeks....probably for them to tell me it's age and weight related. Uggggg!!!

Hi my name is Jhoanne I have had a similar situation for year I thought I wasnt able to pregnant my period was normal I just couldn't get pregnant the I got married and when I least expected I got pregnant and when we found out we were happy then I found out I had abnormal cells but since I had no insurance it has been difficult so I had a high risk pregnancy then after I had my son I had a lot of bleeding then it stop and I didn't have it for a year but then it started coming back and when it came back it was horrible it was so bad I spent most of the time in the hospital and the pain that came with that was to much well after its never been the same the dr do the same thing tell I have abnormal cell and tell me that I dont avulate and send me home because I have no insurance it's been almost six years going through the samething and now it just doesn't go away everyday for the past years it's the same thing and I just don't know what to do it's hard I ended up having to leave my job because of the health issues and you can only imagine that issue or any health issue affects a family

first off im a guy, my name is tyler......but its mainly for my girlfriend, because she came to me today, letting me know shes been bleeding heavy for 6-7 months, she says she has bleeding and dizzyness, and headaches.....as far as i know.....im just a worried boyfriend, who loves his girlfriend, that im willing to look like a fool, just to know if shes going to be ok or not......shes going to the doctor, now and, shes worried and scared, and im......trying to be a strong protecting man for her and reasure her its going to be ok.......

i just wanna know if this is a seriously bad thing, like deadly......idont wanna lose her.....im going out of my mind with worry, and i know she is to, but.....i dont know what to say to her.....

i wish i could understand more of this so i could comfert my girlfriend better......because right now i have no idea how to think......

Hi! my daughter ha been bleeding for 5 months..if she takes xanax it stops and when she stops taking one a day she bleeds again maybe you can get a dr to give this to you

Well my name is Allison, I'm 26 and my periods have never been normal. I got months and months on my period and then I'll go months without it! I'm so torn on what to do. I really want to have have another baby so I don't want to go on birth control...but I'm not even having sex anymore because I'm on my period every day of my life! My name is Kristine. I have been bleeding for over two years. My doctor said I was bleeding from my uterus and cervix. I was told about a year ago that if I need to change my pad every hour due to heavy bleeding to go to the E.R. There is a chance for hemorrhaging. My doctor advised a hysterectomy because I also have polyps. I have put the surgery off but do worry about having to go to the E.R. I don't know what to do, lets face it, no woman wants a hysterectomy!

Hi my name is Angela. I had my period now for about 6 months. I had my baby six months ago and a birth control shot when she was a month old. I have a light period everyday and it doesn't skip a day. I am thinking it's the shot that keeps my period on because I experienced this 5 years ago with my second child, I got the shot once with him too. I hope it's nothing serious.

Well I'm Camryn :). I'm 17 it's September 12th, 2016. And from last July to April I had my period that's 10 months and I got really sick and ended up in the hospital. My iron was at 4% which is REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD. I could have died. Anyways I had to get iron transfusions obvi. But after my iron got back up to where it needed to be. My period was fine until about 2 months ago when it started back. It's like one of the Amanda's described up there large blood clots 5-6 times a day with 2 days every now and then where it's little to no bleeding at all. Which was how it was during the 10 months. It could be anemia which is what I have and it's not that rare for women to get it. But don't be like me and wait til I almost died to do something about it. Have a good day or night or both :).

Im broke chain jennifer 42. I have 2kids 24 19.not trying have kids. No health insurance been denied by medicaid. 3years id have period it stop 7 ,8 month. Have period 7 8 months stop . hey I Chloe.. I had the coil in for nearly two years but suffered extreme pain and irregular bleeding so I had it removed and replaced my contraception with the depo injection this was April last year shorty after having the injection I began to bleed which I though was just a normal period. The bleeding went on for months extremely heavy with a lot of blood clots along with pains in my tummy and back aching legs I would also pass out feeling very tired and self conscious. I also gained weight with a constant bloated feeling. back and forth to the doctors i was put on norethisterone twice to stop the bleeding which didn't work. I then went for an ultra sound scan my results shown a fibroid which had its own blood supply so there was the course of well I hoped. I had the surgery on the 8th of December 2016 I bled for a few days afterwards then things started to settle two weeks later I went for my follow up app, on that day I started bleeding again which was the 22nd of December and still I Havant stopped this time its worse its heavier to point wear its just drips out of me. my partner and I are keen to start a family but due to the lack of sex we have due to the bleeding I don't see this likely. I am back at the hospital on Thursday to try figure out why I'm still bleeding. may sound over the top but I feel my life has been took away and I just want to get back to myself, has anyone has something similar??

Well my name is Alexis and I'm on my 6 th month of bleeding every single day straight MAbe a 1-2 days that I haven't bleed but now enough is enough two years ago I had my period straight for 16 months then I didn't have my period for 4-8 months nothing I have polysystic ovarian disease , iv been on hormones and birth control but all that seems to happen is I get a regular period with insane cramping and to the point they put me on strong painkillers and I'm in the hospital. I don't know what there going to do I'm on a waiting list to have either my pinning of my uterus burned out or my tubes tied. I'm a lesbian and my wife has no problems with her reproductive parts. No one has been able to help me so I'm gonna get rid of the problem at hand instead of paying for all this medication that's not working or makes it worse

I'm going through this. I've been bleeding for about two years. It stopped for a couple of months last year and I may get one day every couple of weeks with nothing...but even then, I'm checking all day or worried about having an accident. I'm married now too. It's just so hard. I'm moody. I know I'm anemic so I just take iron pills on the days it's really gushing. Omg. The doctors just try to shove birth control at me. Regular paps. No pcos diagnosis. Just an emotional wreck, bleeding to death. ugh I pray things get better......I can't believe women go through this with no answer and I have no more insurance so even if I wouldn't get looked at like I was crazy or blamed for being fat, I can't see a doctor anyways. Hi my name is Adel, I have been suffering with really heavy periods for years. Two years ago I started my period and it didn't stop for 9 months. I was going crazy. I went to three Dr.'s all did tests, one wanted surgery, the other sergaid I was fine, and another put me on birth control. Nothing worked for more than a week and even ended up having a terrible reaction to one birth control. But then I dI'd hours and hours of research looking to see if anyone had found a remedy. I tried many things, many, many thing and found something that worked. I figured out that I had a hormone imbalace. None of the drs tested me, but I could tell I was estrogen dominant. The way I figured this out was because of the reaction to birth control I had been given. I researched herbs and came up with vitex and maca root. Both for balance. It took a while the first time for the maca to work like two months but it worked and reset my cycle and hormones, but it made me really mean and sad. So fair warning if you have anxiety or depression. I also read for some it helped with their mental states, just try to be aware of how you feel is all I can suggest because as soon as I noticed I stopped the vitex. I continue to this day to take the maca but I still struggle with heavy long periods. I found this study one menorrhagia, that stated vitamin A stops bleeding. I thought what the hey, let me try. After 8 months I was desperate. I take 60000 ius when I feel it coming onand when I'm on it and 25,000 ius a day when I'm not on my period . Plus the maca daily. It is not only manageable, but also I can leave my house and have 8- 10 day periods, if not shorter and not 8- 10 month periods. I am not dr, I am only telling my story because it may help someone who is struggling. While I recommend going to and dr, they didn't help me. I love taking herbs instead of birth control because I don't feel so bad. Once and again I am not a dr so be cautious on what you try, I just couldn't take it anymore and at 30 couldn't afford to have 10 different surgeries and procedures and take all kings of meds for nothing to help.
On a side note I read that fish liver cod oil has the highest amount of vitamin A without taking a lot of pills. Hope you all find a remedy.
