(I am in 42) in 2007 my period lasted over 6 months, my hemoglobin was down to a 2. I was put in the hospital for a blood transfusion and was suppose to get a hysterectomy well at the last minute the doctor did a DNC. well my period got back on track for about 4 months or so.. Then again I started bleeding again non stop my hemoglobin dropped to a 6 this time, went back in the hospital another blood transfusion. This time they gave me a birth control shot, this made my period normal (but I suffered awful cramps). when the shot wore off my period came back and now it has been almost 5 months with the last month of heavy bleeding and passing blood clots the size of a softball. thank you for any information you can provide. Also i do NOT have health insurance (self employed)...
