Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) allows you to apply for Insurance at a discounted rate and not have to worry about being denied insurance for a pre-existing condition. In New York State, you go on the New York State of Health Website and type in your income and if it's low enough, you get help. I was surprised how much help you can get (free to 1/2 price).

Today is July 13th, '17 so I assume you've already had the procedure done.
But for anyone viewing this site after July'17 this might be helpful for them. Also, while reading comments here, someone said they had paid only $1300.for hernia surgery, which is incredibly cheap...But they had to go to India.
Anyway, check out the $1900.procedure done in Maryland before flying halfway around the world.

Was the hospital in Bangkok? I was just quoted a price of $12,500 for one hernia repaired laproscopically and a bilateral cost of $15,000. Were you happy with the results?

$23295 for mine. No insurance company pays these high prices.Get rid of insurance companies and costs will come down for the payor.

How much is a hernia operation in groin area? My boyfriend is uninsured, and plan to pay out of pocket. What is the price range for a hernia surgery? Is laparoscopic better? This will be his second surgery.
