Hi, good people. I suffer from arrhythmia and my doctor suggested me to try with cardiac ablation. However, I have read somewhere that this procedure could cause mitral valve problems. I wonder if this is true. What can you tell me about this? I would appreciate it. Thanks for all, folks.

Hi to you too. Cardiac ablation is relatively safe procedure. As far as I know, less than 5% of patients experience complications. Usual complication is blood vessel injury when catheter is placed. When moving catheter some heart damages can occur as well. I think in that case, mitral valve can be damaged as well. But this can happen to other heart structures as well. You should discuss the details with your cardiologist. I hope I’ve helped. Bye!
