I have been told that crohn's disease is not contagious but frankly I am not so sure about it. So if I can't catch it from the co-worker who has crohn's disease, then just how is crohn's disease transmitted? Call me a hypochondriac but I am really worried that I am going to catch this awful disease from this guy.

Crohn's Disease is thought to develop due to heredity (your DNA) and a malfunctioning immune system. You can think of it more like an allergic reaction then a disease. His immune system is attacking his digestive system becuase the immune system percives the outside foods as 'bad'. Clearly, their is no virus or bacteria your Co-worker can pas on to you. Your perfectly safe. Best of luck to your co-worker ! :)
