I have to say, I came on here freaking out about the cuts. I am on a antibiotic for Lyme Disease. As a result of the antibotics I started getting a yeast infection, which I always get with antibotics. This is the first time I got slits like that, sex has not been a consideration in my life so it has to be the yeast infection. Thanks.

I have had the same thing, I blammed it on being pregnant.. but it started to freak me out I even accused my Fiance of cheating on me! oops.
There small cuts like paper cuts or razor cuts.. but I get so itchy and I can hardly move without hurting.. I put alot of vaseline it seems to help a little. :-( I'm glad im not the only one going through this!

i have the same paper-cut like problems which seem to be getting more and more common, along with dryness and painful sex. i am active in researching holistic approaches to medicine and do not use anti-biotics or birth control. I refuse to accept that the only possible treatment is of the symptoms. I want to learn how to keep it from happening in the future and am sick of being blown off by my doctor and being told to use more lube.
I've done some research (what little there is on the subject) and my thoughts are that my body may be low on estrogen or some other hormone. Women's bodies are constantly changing and perhaps my diet is not up to the task. Especially since I was on birth control for about thirteen years (which provides estrogen) and it was never a problem until I stopped taking it about three years ago.
I'm looking into taking some estrogenic herbs in the form of pills, tincture, or even teas.

thank god im not alone! ive had these happen every once in a while for a few years now, what usually helps for me is vitamin a ointment and using a cold pack when i get a little privacy it really helps the pain and swelling i experience... i also get extreme vaginal dryness, not inner but outer on the clit and the labia, and it usually lasts anywhere from 3 days to a week and its kinda like my skin down there is shedding, it gets super dry and ichy and peels over a few days then im left right where i began, no dryness no papercuts and just feel like myself agian, this is the second time ive been through this since ive been pregnant but ive gone through this before i was pregnant.. and ive been tested no yeast infection and no STD's

Have any of you been able to figure out what the issue is? I suspect in the last case that it's just a case of dry skin which would cause microcuts on the skin. Does that sounds familiar at all?

the "cuts" can actually be a symptom of Genital Herpes. Just like the blister/sores, just in a different form. I would go to the gyno or physician ASAP. youd be better safe than sorry!

I'm also glad I'm not the only one going through this. I lost my virginity about a year ago and have been experiencing these "paper cut-like tears" on my inner labia and they can be very painful. When peeing or showering the cuts can burn badly...not to mention making sex painful. I can definitely see how vaginal dryness plays a role...but itching and burning...seems like something more... I am currently taking LoEstrin 24 FE and have been for a little over a year...I never had anything like this before taking the birth control so I'm thinking that's playing a big role too. I'm 28 so nowhere close to menopause! So frustrating and disheartening when I talk to my gyn (a male) and he has no idea what could be causing it and brushes it off like no big deal. I'll try the vitamin a oil that I've heard about on here. Can you all please post any progress/cures/helpful ideas when you come across them. It's 2009! There have to be ways to solve these darn issues! :-)

I also would recommend that you use a lubricant as that can reduce the actual tears in the vagina quite a deal! I don't think it would hurt at the very least :-)

I have these little cut looking things around the opening of my vagina, the inner labia, and even close to my booty hole.
My boyfriend is the only guy I've slept with since the last time I was tested, and as far as I knew both of us were clean, and he hasn't had any problems, I was kind of scared I had some kind of STD at first, but I couldn't figure out how. Seeing as both of us were clean at our last test.
Though over the past weekend we had a lot more sex then usual, and were a lot more rough then usual, and I was in a lot of pain.
It burns sooo bad when I pee, I want to cry, and it hurts when I shower, or touch the area at all, what makes it harder is I am currently on my period, and I'm afraid to use tampons, because it hurts but pads irritate the are as well, I have an appt. next week for tetsing, and I'm hoping it will come up negative for anything (as I'm sure it will)
But this makes me feel a lot better to see people are having similar issues, and I'm not some kind of freak of nature.

oh thank god!!! i've been freaking out for two days and finally decided to google it. i went to the gyno last month, got pap AND tested for std, and everything came back fine, and i've been sex free since then. I've had these before, about twice a year for 2-3 years now. The others just went away on their own. But this time, its excruciating to pee, and i've noticed it more down towards my booty hole too... small little cuts by my clitorus, and also cuts along my labia, mostly on the crevice between labia minora and majora. So.. i've tried a few remidies. I thought about that "new skin" bandaid.. the kind of bandaid that comes looking like clear nailpolish, and works well on cuts and scrapes i get from work so i don't have to wear a regular bandaid (construction). Anyways, THAT HURT LIKE HELLLLLLLLLLL. i did it though, on all my cuts, thank god i was home alone because it FREAKIN BURNS like i've never felt, i screamed a few times lol. I also went and bought Yeast Guard, which is a topical ointment to releive itching and swelling (both of which i have. my lips are swollen!!!! its gross). That worked too. So now, hopefully.... Im healing soon. Im soooo glad to have found this place through google.. atleast i'm not alone in this! Well best of luck to you all, hopefully this is just some sort of weird 'yeast infection' that will go away as quickly as it came. =)

I have been having this problem for a few months now and it is really annoying, painful and embarassing, seeing as how i am constantly scratching down there. mine started around the begining of august and i freaked out and i did not know what they were and when they appear they last for about a week. the only thing that seems to help relieve the pain is my son's diaper rash cream. i would also like to know what these are and what is causing them and why they appear on their own and go away. i am glad to know that i am not the only one to have experianced this. the only person that knows about these cuts is my ex boyfriend (who just asked if they are an std lol). and im to embarassed to tell anyone else about so i will be making an appointment to see the dr and if he tells me what they are, i will be sure to let you all know what they are.

can im freaking out too i had sex with my boyfriend one day before my period on friday.. i admit i was kinda dry.. well we had sex like at least 8 times then the next day on saturday i was so sore but we still did it anyways..only once tho when i had came home it felt like i was goin get a urianary infection but end up drinkin that day so i peed alot... and didnt really feel anything.. well on sunday i started and i used a tampon when i took it out it hella hurted i was in so much pain.. so i kinda checked the inside on my lips where the entrance of my hole is and there was like a white thing there on the side.. i had my mom check and she said my skin looked like it was ripped and the skin looked like it was like transparent kinda..ive used all kinds of diffrent meds to try to take it away and it dnt work.. i thought maybe since im on my period and the blood might be irriating and keeping it from healing it burns when i pee too but only on side that has that cut.. its not my pee hole cus when i pee alot it doesnt burn at all but it really hurts alot and burns i get sharp pains and it kinda itches i figured if my skin was ripped which this has happened b4 its prolly healing like you do with a scrap that starts to itch..but this feels like it taking forever to heal i looked down there again and the cut is gone already but im still in pain.. its already wedensday and it started on sunday.. what do you guys thnk it is?? could it be herpes?? my bf is clean and so i am we have a baby together.. and he did cheat on meeh once but that was in the beginning..he doesnt have any symtoms or bumps burning anything its just meeh!!! help me out please im goin crazy here i cant really walk or sit very long without it hurting.. and fyi my bf is kinda big down there and it was rough sex do you thnk thats what it was or something like herpes?? any thoughts will be helpful.../ps sorri for the bad spelling!! 8-|

I don't think that it is herpes but it sounds like it could be dryness. Hae you been to a gyno? It hink it might be a good idea. Let me know what you think.
