she said that all my tests came back negative.

and everything in my lady parts area has been cleared up and good for over a week now.
I was seriously trippin about what it could have been, but it wasn't herpes.
THANK GOD.

Hello
I've just sat and read every single post for help, I think I feel relaxed now that its not anything serious... Thank god!
Me and my boyfriend have been seeing each other for roughly 6 months now and we are very active in the bedroom, since seeing him I’ve had these cuts and once a urine infection. I genuinely believe that these cuts are nothing more that rough intercourse and being dry. I advise lots of lubricant and maybe some PH balance wipes, they have helped me. The cuts still keep coming back on their own thought and from this because its sore I scratch and then because I’m rubbing I wipe away a lot of the natural lubricant causing it to become dry... its a vicious cycle! My Ex and I didn’t have sex a lot, maybe once a month so I’m guessing that’s why I never got it with him. My new boyfriend and I get down to business a lot so I think all the stretching and manipulating of skin in that area just leaves it weaker and more prone to cuts. The yeast infection I think could come from medicine being taken or even mixing of body fluids. At the moment I’ve got good old Vagisil which is working very well, the itching has gone, it cools the area, its reduced the redness and the soreness has been halved... but it doesn’t help its near my clitoris which is naturally sensitive.
By the way I know that it’s not any STD because we have both been tested and came up clear.
Hope this helps xx

I am so very glad that it turned out ti wasn't anything. I'm glad that you also laid off the sex for a bit to see if it would heal, because it sounds like it did. Thanks for the update! How are you doing now?

I have suffered from this exact same thing for more than 3 years and never fully understood what it was. I would always feel some sort of pain and burning sensation during a trip to the ladies room, and a very thick white discharge. Sometimes itchy sometimes not. No STD's or anything of that nature. But yeast infections were supposedly a "hereditary curse on the female side of my family." So i framed that as my culprit seeing as It was still there during the 3 years of abstinence. I had taken things like Monistat which only gave relief for the itch and cut back the discharge. Whenever my bf and i had sex it was very.. very painful. and burned so bad. I was so upset. I actually found 2 or 3 little red (almost looked like stretch marks) cuts on around the opening of my.. well ya know. So I took a Cotton Swab dipped it in water diluted table salt and swabbed the tears... and I also swabbed a small amount of Triple Antibiotic ointment there also. (Small amounts though to refrain from further infections or anything.) Honestly, the next day I was COMPLETELY healed. Sex was not painful anymore, using the restroom was no longer dreadful, and life was just better. The cuts were gone. The discharge seemed normal amounts now, no burning, an itch or two (from the salt the first day or so).

But a question maybe someone could help me with... Whenever I do have sex with my fiance, it can be painful from (Deep penetration) which may be normal since he is quite endowed, but i have had ocassions with severe cramping afterwards and even small bright pink blood when I pee, and even a blood clot once. It scares me because i heard it can be a sign of endometriosis and I have always wanted kids but only tried a few times.. maybe im worrying for nothing? :(

Thank goodness for this. It's really put my mind at rest. I'm not sexually active so I knew it wasn't a sexual concern but i get these cuts quite frequently and didn't know why. That it is a yeast infection is not surprising. I am a clean person. I regularly wash down there very thoroughly, though not roughly and wear sensible underwear of cotton material. I am also very conscious of keeping the area dry as moisture can lead to a yeast infection. Yet i am ridiculously sensitive and prone to them. Guess It's time to get myself to the pharmacy for meds as it may be the only way to shift it more long term x

I am pregnant so i need to be careful with the med I use. I am suffering from the same kind of "paper cut" inside of the labia. It hurts a lot, and I developped that 3 months ago after they put a catheter in my bladder to do a test 3 months ago. Did the anti yeast cream work? Thx.

I finally got an answer. I have been getting these for years and never could get a doctor to give me an answer on what they are. I have gotten full STD screens at each anual exam including herpes blood test each time and all test have come back negative every time. Now Im pregnant and have been to the doctor several times and the cuts are there and I refused to take "I dont know" as an answer so finally after several test they found out exactly what causes them and unfortunately its HPV. This is an STD but not one that is tested for ever unless requested or it causes serious problems. There are many strans, most commonly it causes genital warts or it ends up causing cervical cancer. There is no cure but sometimes it doesnt cause noticeable symptoms (just like other STDs) Men can not be tested for the virus although they spread it but a woman can be test for it.

All of you that are reassured by negative STD results are having a false sense of relief because it is almost certain that the doctor DID NOT test for HPV but instead tested you for all the "regular" STDS that are routinely screened for. It is not a yeast infection it could be a coincidence that you had a yeast infection at the same time as the cuts but the doctor told me absolutely not a symptom of yeast infection or bacterial infections. They did a small biopsy of the actual cuts and concluded it is for sure HPV causing them

I've had the same problem for what feels like ages now and tried everything. The cuts always seemed to appear after sex or during my period and we're pretty painful. But i seem to have stumbled onto a soloution! I just went to Boots and bought a feminine wash and use it every morning when showering, it's called Femfresh and just available from the shelves for about £5. Since i've been using it i've not a a single cut or irritation and i'm so relieved. You can get quite a few different products from the range but i just use the one called Femfresh intimate wash which is like a gel. ***edited by moderator*** web addresses not allowed Hope this helps!

I have the same issue! I've had it my whole life though. : ( I was about 6 when it started. The last time I went to the Doc. she said she thinks it's a condition where the vaginal skin is weaker than normal. So, it seems that this is something we will just have to live with. I'm currently trying hydrocortizone for the itching. Good luck to all of us! : )

Oh wow, these posts really made me feel a whole lot better. I have gotten the little paper cut twice down there on my inner labia. No discharge, no foul odor. At first I thought I had cut myself shaving... then I thought ripped the skin when I got a wax. But it's really underneath. So I thought it was from either removing or inserting my diva cup (for my period). And after seeing that a lot of you get it around your period, I felt relieved because I am on my period! I also take birth control - don't know if that has anything to do with it. But I actually thought I had given myself herpes (I have type 1 - I get cold sores) and was worried I had given something to my partner. I feel much much better, but will still go to the doctor.  :-)

After reading all these posts I had to write about my experience with the cuts I get in my inner labia as well because after years of trying to find an answer and visiting with multiple OB's, I think I've finally found a solution.  I usually get the cuts after rough sex or any sex (oral included) if I'm dry.  I'm also prone to yeast infections.  I notice that if I eat a lot of food that has a lot of yeast in it or drink a lot of beer (and then have sex) then I also get the cuts (or a yeast infection, they go hand in hand a lot of times for me).  I saw numerous doctors (OB's) in various countries and states (I've traveled a lot over the years) who all said that all of these problems were due to dryness and all I needed to do was apply more lube.

The problem actually started after I got married during a time that I was really stressed out.  And my husband was actually the one who helped me find a naturopathic doctor who specializes in women's health (after 5 years of bouncing around from doctor to doctor or just dealing with it with Monistat cream).  The naturopathic doctor was the only one to really pinpoint the problem and find a way to prevent them.  She said that yes, the cuts are due to dryness, but if lube wasn't cutting it, we really needed to find a way of bringing moisture into the area "from the inside out".

She put me on a regiment of increased fluids, decreased caffeine intake, really potent Pro-biotics (this is where the magic comes in!), and a cream of estrogen and Vitamin E.  The Vitamin E was for the healing properties, and the estrogen cream was to help "plump" my vagina and labia.  She had me do 6 weeks of internal insertion of the cream (much like you do with a yeast infection) and then she also had me apply the cream to the outer areas to make sure it was all covered.  She also asked me to stay off of birth control while we were figuring out whether this was going to work, because most birth controls suppress the body's natural production of estrogen (just as a note, I wasn't currently on birth control but I asked her if I could start one, and she asked me to hold off for a while).  She said that there is some controversy about administering what is considered a "high" level of estrogen like what she was giving me, because of some side effects it could cause throughout the rest of the body.  However, she said the kind she was giving me would really only work locally (which I saw to be true because my breasts never got bigger, like they do with certain kinds of birth control and that would have been a sign of the cream affecting the rest of my body).

I also want to say that she ran a whole bunch of tests during my first visit to make sure that there wasn't anything else going on like an infection (which would need antibiotics) or any STD's or anything imbalanced in my blood.  I have had tests done earlier on for treating my acne and they found that I had slighly lower than normal levels of estrogen, so everything she was prescribing for me seemed to tie together all of the issues I've had with my overall health (low estrogen, dryness, sensitivity to yeast).

The regiment worked like a charm.  She asked me to refrain from sex for a couple weeks, which wasn't hard to do because it really was getting very painful and annoying that I would have to suffer with that pain for days while I healed.  And then when my husband and I gave it a try, I was pain free and no cuts!  We even tried for more frequency than normal, and still, everything was fine.

The only downside is that the cream is kinda expensive and applying it nightly is cumbersome.  However, once she saw that her 6-week plan had worked for me, she said I could knock down the cream to only 3-4 times a week.

And I haven't been keeping up with it lately because I ran out of cream and haven't been able to refill it, and now I'm hurting again :(  I'll have to do another 6-week boot camp to get back on track.  Hope this helps!  I guess moral of the story is that you'll need to find an alternative medicine doctor who specializes in hormone therapy and has a history of helping women overcome "painful sex" to help you find something that conventional medicine doesn't have an answer for right now!
