I would like to hear your opinion on this matter. My mother has been diagnosed with a lung cancer. She is a smoker; a passionate one for almost four decades and that could be the cause of her health problem. Still, she saw another doctor who mentioned some different types of pulmonary amyloidosis. What can that be?

That condition is usually systematic and the problem is that it is always asymptomatic. Factors that cause it vary from hematologic, inflammatory to idiopathic and even hereditary. And the main thing is, its presence might be mistaken for some other, more serious condition. I suppose that another examination could reveal the true cause of her problems.
