Hi, I would like some answers regarding allodynia and its effect on the different types of skin. I have a friend who suffers from this condition and he claims that he feels it differently on the different parts of the skin. I have to admit that I had a problem comprehending the condition itself, not to mention those diversities. Can you explain them to me?

Well, as our skin is not the same in all parts, I assume that the allodynia caused pain would be felt differently. Thermally sensitized skin can easily present this phenomenon. But it is an interesting thing, there are patients who suffer from this but are not aware because the pain is minor and almost insignificant. As for your friend I hope that he also does not feel much pain because of allodynia.
