I was sat down when a loud piecering sound started in my left ear. It lasted about 30 seconds and then stopped. It left me dizzy and I nearly passed out. The disequilibrium continued but the sound stopped. One week later the tinnitus reappeared. Both are now present most of the time. The disequilibrium disappears when I lie down. It gets worse when the tinnitus gets louder. I've been to the doctors. The following tests were conducted. Hearing test and pressure test, balance test, Mri on brain and spine. All normal except the spine which showed mild scoliosis. Possibly been there since birth. Ive been given beta histone which made no difference and steroids. Also no difference. I should add before this started I had a number of other problems which all appeared suddenly in February 2020. Chest pain, back ache, sore throat (persistent). Pain in my left shoulder with pins and needles in fingers and persistent pain in upper left arm. Lying on either shoulder causes my hands to get pins and needles and go dead. (Lying on your side in bed). I also experience neuropathic itching in both arms in exactly the same position on both arms. Ant thoughts would be useful. Thanks.

Hello, Rob.

Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all solution for tinnitus. Many people find relief through various forms of sound therapy, such as listening to calming music or white noise. Other treatments may include cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation techniques, medications, and hearing aids. Before attempting any treatment, it is important to have a complete medical evaluation to make sure there are no underlying conditions contributing to your tinnitus.

What is your treatment right now?
