Hi everyone, I had surgery six weeks ago.I was told by the doctor that the sutures would dissolve overtime. The wound itself has healed excellent but I have had this hard bit at the end of the cut.Last night I bumped it,thinkiing it was a scab coming loose I pulled at it only to find I had a 15 to 20mm long suture hanging out of the cut.The suture is white in colour so I am hoping it is dissolvable.Does anyone know what I should do ,whether to snip it of or not.................Thanks

Conventional wisdom tells you to leave it alone or to consult your doctor about it. You can actually leave a phone message at your doctor's office, your doctor's receptionist should return your call without charging you extra for it. You can safely snip out most of the exposed portion, leaving maybe a short stub near the skin surface.
