My father had Meniere's disease which is severe vertigo to point of immediate falling injury and blackout. Several treatments but none fixed it. He had the most extensive work done and that was to have his inner ear removed on his right ear. That fixed it.

Have you looked into a Vitamin B12 or D deficiency?

I've had vertigo brought on by getting hit in the head in a kickball beer league. I am recovering and having fewer episodes after lots of vestibular exercises (You Tube), sleeping 8 hours per night, exercising regularly, lowering my salt intake to less than 1500mg per day (causes high Blood Pressure), and taking Magnesium Citrate daily. Hope these ideas help you!!! STAY busy and don't become a hermit (I KNOW how hard it is, but trust me!).

I suffered a severe vertigo attack in my sleep, went to the ER doctor looked at my eyes and said it was a bad vertigo attack. Long story short, had MRI saw 2 ENT doctor saw a Numerologist he ordered tests and admitted me for 3 days to monitor my brain function. They cannot seem to find answers for my ongoing spinning. It has now debilitated me I cannot move my head not even in slow motion because I feel as if someone is behind me pulling my head backward and well I have fallen several times. I am sitting down now in my home office and my head is spinning. Now when it goes full speed I cannot focus, I see less for it has made my vision worse, my hands shake and it takes my breath away and causes weakness. I have to sit and not move until it settles down enough for me to regain my focus. I feel deep inside my soul there is something else going on and now I am in a place where I cannot move. 3 years now going on 4 Help please :( .

OMG I think you have saved my life. I realize this thread is years old but if you're reading this and have unexplained headaches and vertigo then please please give SCM massage a try!! For me it was instant relief. Who would have thought a couple of tight neck muscles could turn your life into such a nightmare. Thank you thank you for posting this, it has changed my life.
