I have been in the same situation many time, and its really starting to concern me. Like today, I was over at a friends house, and she was trimming my bangs, Suddenly I get a real tired feeling, a sickness to my stomach, felt real light headed. My vision started to black out. I had to get up and lay down on the couch. vision coming back after sitting(laying) . After about 30 seconds of laying on the couch, it started to feel worst. than everything becomes mute, and is hard for me to hear. If I try to get back up, I feel dizzy and my vision darkens
. So I lay their until I feel certain that its over, only for a headache to greet me.

I'm not sure what I should do, When I try to explain this to my friends or family, their not understanding or taking it seriously. I really want to know whats going on, is it life-threatening? What am I experiencing? And what could I do to make this occurrence stop?

Dont worry about this, it's pretty common and easy to deal with, tilt your head down when standing up, it's most likley the blood draining from your head before the veins/arteries in your neck have time to adjust to the change in elevation, it's nothing serious or worthy of any worry. i get this too and i honestly just find it fun, being free for a few seconds, as long as i dont go the full way and land on my face its a fun experience.

out of interest, are you double jointed? apparently hypermobile people are more likeley to have this problem than others.

I am not the type to check on the internet for health problems, but I know there is something wrong with me. Three years ago I had bilateral carotid body tumours removed and about a month after the surgery I began to feel symptoms that made me fear that my tumors had regrown. I got a catscan, but it came back clear, but the symptoms continued! I felt like my heart rate was going crazy, and had to take a nap before passing out just from taking a shower! I would get dizzy and then suddenly get so exhausted that I would almost pass out even through I was standing. I went back to my doctor and he had some blood tests done and another catscan. he told me everything was clear. I felt like I was going insane, with the sudden high heart rate, headaches, dizziness and sudden overwhelming exhaustion. I am not a depressed person, but everyone would ask if that maybe the cause. I told them i didn't feel unhappy, but in times of stress or anxiety that I'd feel the symptoms were more pronounced.

Recently I feel like the symptoms are taking over my life. I feel so exhausted at times that I have to just sit there and rest before I can do anything. Sometimes after doing the simplest of tasks my heart races like crazy, I feel light headed, I get dizzy, have palpitations and get shortness of breath. Some times my headaches make me so sick I have to take the day off work.

I know there is something wrong, but the doctor says the test came back fine...I wish I knew what was wrong with me.

Hey, I'm Taylor. I'm 16 and just started two a days. (this is a school sporting event where you condition and what not to prepare for the season.) anyways, today after conditioning and playing matches for about two hours I became extremely light headed. I couldn't understand anything my coach was saying and everything started becoming fuzzy. After sitting in the shade for a while I tried to get back to practicing. Yet again everything became fuzzy and I lost completely all of my vision for about 5 seconds. I had to basically lay down on the court and remain still, so I wouldn't become light headed. I tried drinking tons of water and holding a cold towel on my head to try to cool down. Nothing seemed to help. My head felt extremely heavy. Even when I got home from practice I was dizzy. I had to sit down in the shower and keep my eyes closed.
So now I'm laying down down trying to keep it cool. I've been exhausted all day, my eyes hurt and the pain in the front of my head is killing me. However this is not the first time this dizziness has occurred. A lot of the time while showering, I become so light headed I black out. The only way I've found to fix that, is to sprawl out on the bathroom floor and rest.
I drink plenty of water.. So that shouldn't be the problem. Today just worried me because I truly feel miserable and I have two a days for another two weeks and I'm sorta scared to go back. Please help! Oh and my blood pressure and everything is fine, I just got a physical yesterday. So I'm in the clear.

I read your post and want to know iff you have been tested for Lyme or fungui such as systemic candida. Systemic candida is basically a yeast infection out of control. Google it and see if the symptoms match. Please let me know because my 15 year old daughter has similar complaints. We have been to a Lyme specialist, ENT, Cardiologist, NaturalPath, Chiropractor, Cranial Therapist etc.

Thanks

Eliminate toxic chemicals anywhere you can: in your shampoo, cleaners, smelly things like febreeze... any products - there are already enough floating around in our water and air. Stop eating sugars, especially high fructose corn syrup. Get a filtration system for your home water supply (prefferable reverse osmosis) eat a lot of organic raw greens and lettuces veggies and fruits - even you if you think they taste gross, you'll get used to it. Even if you think it's too expensive or it has pesticides on it anyway - at least more pesticides and fertilizers aren't getting dumped (they are toxic as soon as they are released) and products must be more expensive to produce if they are produced with quality.

touch the ground, go barefoot. Specifically for headaches, try breathing deep - yoga practices can be beneficial because you can choose ones that aren't too physically exerting and allow you to rest but build your strength. feverfew is said to help with headaches, noni, ginger tea, celery alkalizes the body and can help. ....

We live in an extremely toxic environment and should do all we can to prevent adding more toxins, in whatever ways we can.

I used to be thirsty all the time, was really tired and would feel faint when I was in the shower or stood up too quickly. I was severely anemic and vitamin D deficient (I live in seattle... go figure). The worst part was that the day after they drew my blood (but before my lab results were back), I donated blood. The blood bank tested me for anemia and said my iron levels looked great. The next day, I thought I was going insane -- I couldn't think straight and was disoriented and confused. I managed to make it through my classes (I'm an undergrad) and the doctor called me in to discuss the results of my blood test. I eat a very healthy diet but avoid red meat, my iron intake was not enough to supplement multiple blood donations each year. I take iron pills and vitamin D supplements and feel much better now!

My Mum had this, she was diagnosed with Nuerocardiogenic Syncope (Vasvagol Syncope) It took doctors over 3 years to diagnose her with this as she managed to confuse them by it as it is a very rare condition but at 15 i'm not her young carer so i understand every aspect of her illness and have done since i was 10.

Victoria, Im your age, and so glad you posted this, I have the exact same problem, except im not on medication, and i didnt have the tests. My blacking out has been annoying but never bad. I would start falling but i would catch my self then sit down, because i was so unbelievably dizzy. But today it got worse, i got out of bed, walked into my hallway, everything blacked out, I dropped, i feel like i couldnt see anything, and smashed my hip against a box in our hallway. I dont know what to do, its so bad, my head is still spinning from the fall this morning. I have seen a doctor before about it, cause it was getting so bad, but then it stopped. the doctor but me on inner ear infection antibiotics, i feel they didnt work, but i will admit, i didnt take them every day like i was supposed to. Hopefully going to see a doctor this week. Thank you so much for posting this, no has described what I feel better than you did.

My name is Lindsay and I'm 15! I have the exact same symptoms. It's like you read my mind! My doctor told me to do the same things but they aren't helping at all. I have blood tests coming up and an EKG. My doctor heard a mummer a while ago but it went away; she said when ever I move my blood pressure goes crazy!

My fifeteen year old daughter has the same exact symptoms and is schedualed to see a neurologist. She has already seen a dr., who says it may be migranes. I find it interesting that girls of the same age, are haveing the EXACT same symptoms. I'm wondering if they are on any type of birth control, and if they are having any problems with their mensrtral cycle as well.. I will post another reply after seeing a neurologist. ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** private e-mails not allowed*** Please read our Terms of Use
