My freshman year of high school is when my dizzy spells started out. Im a tall thin girl. My sophmore year i passed out in school and was taken to the hospital, they did all of the MRIs and other tests and come to find out i am Hypoglycemic....not sure how to exactly spell that, but that means i have low blood sugar, and no that does not mean that you need to go eat a bunch of sugary foods to make you better. Your body needs a balance of carbs and proteins so i have to make sure that i eat a balance of them everyday so that i do not get my dizzy spells. I have noticed that if i do not eat before i take a shower i end up blacking out or worse passing out either while im in the shower or right when i get out. so if you're experiencing this too...maybe make sure that you have food in your stomach before you shower. Hope this helped.

My almost 15 yr old daughter started 3 weeks ago with dizziness, the passing out and then a bad headache that has not gotten better with tylenol, motrin or an excedrin migrane type med. She passed out 4 times and has had some black outs with dark rings in her vision. The ER tried steroids, compazine and toradyl and benedryl, nothing has helped. She was on birth comtrol and came off them about 2 years ago after being on for about one year. This all started a week before she started her period for the month. She has had ekgs, cat scan, bloodwork, urine test, chest x-ray, eye exam by neuro-opthomology, all coming out good. She has an appointment with neurology this thursday. They wanted her to take Topomax, but we dont like the side effects and warnings. Oh and now she is getting weak when she goes out to do things. Sounds bother her as well as car rides and not some lights. I don't know what to do for her.

i am 26 years old with all the same problems that started about 6 yrs ago i have been to a neurologist and she said i have epilepsy however i donmt think this is what it is so i am going back for a second opinion in about  2 weeks i do not have a heart murmur however i did when i was a baby my eeg came back abnormal but all other tests were normal i am pregnant now and terrified of what tests might do to the baby i think the most annoying thing though is the lack of energy on the days when i have my blackouts i am exhausted and feel like someone stuck a vacuum in me and sucked out all my energy this is horrible since i am a mother of 2 and pregnant again. good luck to all of us maybe we all have something that just hasnmt been found yet

Omg, same exact thing here. I'm 16 and have been experiencing all the same symptoms for about 3 months. The only difference is that if I inhale too hard or sometimes when I stand up, I feel like there's blood rushing to my head and get a weird feeling/smell in my nose. I cant shower without eating or I'll get really dizzy too. I haven't had the energy to do anything for years. Maybe this all comes down to a poor diet, but it's definitely scary.

My fifeteen year old daughter has the same exact symptoms and is schedualed to see a neurologist. She has already seen a dr., who says it may be migranes. I find it interesting that girls of the same age, are haveing the EXACT same symptoms. I'm wondering if they are on any type of birth control, and if they are having any problems with their mensrtral cycle as well.. I will post another reply after seeing a neurologist. ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** private e-mails not allowed*** Please read our Terms of Use

I just want to say I'm no Doctor, but it sounds like all of you have poor blood circulation!! I have the same problems for years! been to a lot of Doc's as well and nothing ;-( .I went to eye Doc yesterday & the sparkle black dots, headaches is poor blood circulation to the eye.nothing they can do but give you a referral to another Doc that can give you pain Meds.for the bad headaches! I get sparkles in my left eye lasts about 10 min, then follwed by a bad headache from hell.I try to stay in a dark place until it passes.I also had a rare disease called Kine-box disease my left wrist bone collapsed due to poor blood flow through the bone,my feet,my hands are always cold.I had passed out twice in the past. The trick is to get up slow,so all the blood doesn't rush to your head.Eat a good diet! Make sure you exercise everyday, very important!! I live in Florida , always remember to wear sunglasses everyday to save your eyes!! Good luck everyone!! I'm going to look up previous post Hyperventilation Syndrome?!

Well my daughter passed out again last Friday and so we went back to the pediatrician. She then refered us to pediatric cardiology. We went and they did another EKG and listened to her heart. They came back with a diagnosis(or as some say on line a non diagnosis like fibromyalgia) they said she has "dysautonomia". This kinda makes sence since she had an upper respiratory infection (or flu) a week or two before this all started and she also had the nasal flu vaccine about a month or two prior also. We had also moved. They told her she could have this for a few months or her whole life. They said to have her exercise, increase salt intake by having salty snacks a few times a day, drink at least 64+oz of fluids a day, no caffeene, drink something before she gets out if bed. They also suggested a beta blocker(to get headache under control) and not to take the topomax (too strong of a med), get plenty of sleep. She has not started the beta blocker yet as we had to call the neurologist to prescribe the right dose. We are concerned about weight gain though. The exercise will go slow though. They think that once we get the headaches under control the dizziness will subside and maybe not pass out. Concerned to about being more tired on the beta blocker too. They said that this is happening a lot in teens, more so in girls. When are helmets going to be in fashion?? Good luck! I'll try to remember to update here. Take care Tickled pink Teri

I am 17 years old and Victorias post is almost EXACTLY what I have gone through. I have been on Vyvanse 70mg for 5 years now (growing dosages 20-70) and am fully aware of the dizziness accompanied with this drug. But I have begun to experience very intense tunnel vision where my peripheral vision is completely wiped out for upwards of 30the seconds at a time. I also almost always have a symptom where it sounds as if I have my ears plugged and can hear myself breathing and my heartbeat very loudly in my ears, without my ears being plugged. I have been diagnosed with chronic optic migraines since I was 12, so im fairly used to headaches and symptoms of that nature. But today, when I woke up on the floor with a broken cheekbone and bloody lip, unable to recall where I had come from it what had happened, I knew something very new, very different was beginning. All of your stories have helped me to understand that im not the only one, and I look forward to exploring this with my doctor soon and figuring out what's wrong. As for the rest of you, here's wishing you and your families good luck with figuring out this all-too-common yet belittled issue!

I will continue my search but i hope your questions have been answered. -DiazLucifer o.O

Hi I'm 14 years old and this has been happening to me too! For about two years after sitting down, my vision gets all black and I'm dizzy. I've passed out a couple of times when getting out of bed, and I'm not overweight or have an inhaler or anything! My dad says I need more protein and salt, and also that our bodies are just growing. I feel more normal knowing this happens to other people too! I don't know much to tell you but hopefully you get better soon and me too!

These all sound a lot like migraines to me. Chocolate is a migraine trigger food, also.
