My mom was diagnosed with thyroid cancer six months ago and had total thyroidectomy. But that’s not the end of the fight because she still has to undergo radioactive iodine treatment to make sure there are no cancer cells left. It might seem like a minor problem compared to all this, but during these first few weeks of TSH suppression before RAI treatment, she is having a lot of problems with sleeping.

She barely sleeps at all during the night and she is feeling constantly tired, nervous and irritated. We did tell this to her endocrinologist, but the only answer we got is that it’s a part of the procedure.
