I had a thyroidectomy on the 15th of may . The next period i had was the 14th of June (delay) from stress of surgery i think .anyways starting trying as soon as my cycle ended ( around the 21st ) .. took a pregnancy test on Thursday the 6th - negitive , but my breats were so sore . Took another one friday 7th june - faint positive, so i took another one that same day - positive. Took 2 Saturday the 8th - positive and 1 today Sunday the 9th strong positive .. i am over the moon , fearful , anxious , delighted - rollercoaster of emotions but i am pregnant 6 weeks after surgery ..:)

Hello Yong,
Were you ever irregular in your menstrual cycles before you had your thyroid taken out?

to all women out there that had thyroidectomy, dont lose hope! i had surgery 2 or 3 months ago. they removed my whole thyroid due to cancer suspection and on jan 19 2018 i had a radioiodine treatment and i got pregnant 2 or 3 weeks after and i just seen my thyroid doctor yesterday and gave me the best news ever, a span of 2-3 wks is totally fine. iodine cells goes down big time at day 2. and she just keeps saying how on earth i got pregnant like this fast. she said it has nothing to do w/ the iodine if ever theres a miscarriage but she said me and my babys totally sitting fine. just have to check tsh level every month and id be doin good! so dont lose hope and pray it to God and be very extra careful ;-)
