Not sure if this is considered PMS or not but for quite some time now and even tho I am no longer fertile (thanks to some stupid doctors ruining that back when I was 37), during what would be my regular ovulation time of the month, I get seriously, viciously, angry!!! I mean, I would rather kill you than look at you type thing. I know WHY I am so angry but I don't understand why it is exacerbated at that time as opposed to any other time of the month.  Last year for about 5 months, I went on one of the anti-depressants and the problem went away so I am about to do that again but just kind of wondered if any other women have this problem. I am 45 and periods are still mostly regular except for some changes that didn't begin until after an upper back injury in late 06-early 07 where my days between periods will be as long as 32 days or more and where I will bleed profusely for days and days on end (as much as 5-9 days HEAVILY) before winding down for a total of as much as 15 all total bleeding wise.

Hello medicalmess,

I completely understand what you're experiencing - ever since my first period, for the days between ovulation and period (they are so painful to this day that I ended up in ER several times), my mood and emotions are in complete chaos. Like you said (I really like that description :)  "I would rather kill you than look at you". Not to mention that every even slightly harsh word anyone says to me would make me cry, as if it was the end of the world.

But I assume you already found women who suffer from PMS, the only difference is I mentioned this during my depression treatment to my psych. She literally said that PMS as an official problem was recognized only recently and that she thinks that antidepressants I'm taking will help with PMS too. And guess what - they did jack s**t.

Anyways, let's hope more women join the discussion and maybe offer us more advice,

Wish you all the best,

Nicole
