I had the same experience. I have 30 days cycle. I had my period on April 12 and we had a protected s*x on the 19th (last day of my period) and 20th. On the 21st and 22nd I had a watery discharge, just like how you guys explain, and on 23rd, which is the first day of me being fertile, I had little to no discharge. Ovulation was supposed to be on saturday but instead of getting egg-white like discharge, i had little to none white and creamy discharge until now. This is all new to me. Help pls?

Me too. You need an iron infusion as I am sure your absentmindedness is due to low iron from blood loss. If you let it go long enough it can be debilitating! I'm 46. I have severe adenomyosis ( severe period pain, clots sometimes larger than a boiled egg... sometimes nearly fist size, heavy bleeding that can be unmanageable, anywhere from 7 days to a number of weeks)... now I also have this clear discharge after my period that is as heavy as a normal period. Panty liners are not enough.. Urrgh!! Trying to get to the bottom of it without birth control/hysterectomy, as I have not had any luck conceiving and not ready to "Shut up shop".

I don't think that leucorrhea is the same as what the ladies are describing. Maybe I'm wrong, but leucorrhea seems to be more of a thick discharge. What they're experiencing (if I understand correctly) is of a watery consistency. Thoughts? Has anyone figured out what it is and how to deal with it (besides just wearing a pad and simply enduring) since the doctors don't know?

Please consider a menstrual cup. It’s life changing for heavy bleeding, and will save you a ton of money at the rate you’re going. There are several on the market that have a far greater capacity than the heftiest tampons. Take a cup quiz and try one out.

Is it normal to have an excessive discharge for like a week every time after my menstruation?

The environment of a normal, healthy, vagina is acidic with a pH of roughly 5. It is semen (males) that is alkaline. The vagina needs to remain acidic to kill off bad bacteria that can cause infections. The more alkaline the environment, the higher the risk of being susceptible to infection. If your doctor actually said this, please consider switching doctors immediately. This is basic, anatomy 101 material that even a first year pre-med student would learn.

As for the OP topic, excessive vaginal discharge immediately after menstruation that is either milky white, thin, watery or clear is how the vagina cleans itself. It is also a response to the hormonal changes taking place to prepare for ovulation which typically happens between 3-5 days after menstruation (varies per female).
