I've been spitting since I was 6 weeks pregnant and I am now 20weeks.... I'm still nauseous depending on what I eat. The excessive saliva is so annoying, but untill last week I found eating plain popcorn stopped the excessive saliva then I stopped spitting for 3 days which was amazing. Till I felt nauseous again and after eating certain food, the spitting returned. I have just eaten a bowl of popcorn and its gone again. So try popcorn... I guarantee its a temporary solution but it works. Good luck :)

Hehehe I know that feeling ! I have three girls and was spitting throughout ALL nine months each pregnancy. It was beyond awful, to walk around with that spit cup. At times I would buy a fast food paper cup , with the lid and straw and pretended like I was drinking but I was filling that cup with tissue and spit.
There's not much to be done , when you have that awful symptom. Nothing worked for me and I hate it .

Hi ladies
I had excessive saliva with all 3 of my pregnancies. I searched the internet every day with my 3rd pregnancy. I couldnt stand it anymore. I found that sudafed helps. My OB doc said it was OK. However, it stopped working after a few days.
Then l came across Dramamine. That was my miracle drug. It helped throughout my entire pregnancy. It makes you a little drowsy but its ok. I was an ER nurse at the time and l just couldnt go on with the spitting. Hope l helped someone. I saw this thread in my email today. My girl is almost 5!!!!

I wish you the best of luck and hope it gets better for you. I have suffered with this throughout my pregnancy and I am now 34 weeks and looking forward to the delivery to have no ore nausea and excess saliva. I am also worse in the evening and night. I always need tissues with me and when I am travelling bottles needing to spit all the time otherwise my saliva makes me vomit.

Avoid sugars and too much starch. Also just drink water no juice. Try and hydrate as much as possible as its obviously really dehydrated. Its a tough one, I tried homeopathy everything. A herbal tonic for your liver can help a little.

Good luck!

Hi I am in the same position as all of u, this my 2nd pregnancy and I am spitting as with my first. It did not stop until I gave birth.
I usually carry a small water bottle to spit in.
It is difficult especially at work. I chew on gum to help but get tired of it. I don't think there is any cure to this. Just to be strong and patient, it will end one day.
