Does anyone have a comprehensive list of brands and sources to avoid? I have been trying to keep up with this thread but I find myself getting lost. Anyone at all?

Well, who'd have thought it?
I've been really worried about this awful taste, since Friday and all along it's just 'cos I ate a handful of pine nuts last week! I was worried I had some sort of liver problem or worse!
Mine were Tesco ones and I've just thrown the rest of the pack out to the pigeons (hope it doesn't affect them). The packet says "packed in Italy for Tesco", but doesn't indicate country of origin.
I've read through a lot of this and the preceding threads and it seems to me that no-one knows what causes this or how to get rid of it, which Is strange, and a little concerning, given that is seems to average 10-14 days to go away, meaning I've probably got another week of this rancid taste to live with! :-(
Still it's a weight off my mind to know it's nothing more serious and it's not permanent!

I've had a bitter taste in the back of my mouth for a few days. I'm not sure if pine nuts are the cause or not, but I've definitely been eating pine nuts on salads for a month now. I live in Portland, OR, where some of the other posters have said they purchased pine nuts and experienced the same symptoms.
Man this sucks...

Yes! It must be the pine nuts! I just bought a bag of roasted pignolis from Trader Joes and made a spinach dish with them last week. Ever since yesterday morning I've had the most awful taste at the back of my tongue that taints everything I eat. I'm so relieved I found this discussion or I would have been driving myself nuts (literally) imagining all sorts of worst case scenarios... I just hope it goes away. Soon.

Wow! I'm so happy I've found some answer... went to the doctor last night and he had no answers. At least this is a great start. How long will this last? It goes away if I don't eat for a while but then comes roaring back when I eat - on Friday I ate some pine nuts and on Sun the taste came on ....

Wow, am so happy to find the answer. I ate an avocado and pine nut sandwich from M&S two days ago and had this bitterness when eating ever since. Thanks to everyone who's posted, you've solved the answer, and I can stop worrying! :-D

And yet another! I've been eating and toasting pine nuts for years and this is a new one to me!...same bitter taste that everyone's reporting, with a lag of about 3 days. The rest of my family ate the same salad with toasted pine nuts and I'm the only one with these symptoms. Very strange, and I'm relieved to find that others report that it only lasts for about 4 days.
I too find that any sweets or wine are completely repellent. Salty foods seem to help.
Thanks to all out there who've posted!

Wow is all I can say.............I've been eating pine nuts since Christmas eve when I used some in an Italian shrimp dish I prepared (which was excellent, btw). The bag of pine nuts I bought from Trader Joe's and the nuts come from Vietnam/Korea according to the bag. They don't smell or look off......
I thought I ha GERD/Heartburn/H.Pylori....then I stumbled across all these LONG threads here. So I last ate some yesterday.....here's to hoping for a better taste in my mouth by Wed or Thursday!

I have been reduced to drinking Pedialyte to stay alive.......oddly the few times I tasted it when I had to give Pedialyte to my kids was disgusting......I think because of the electrolytes playing with the nasty pine mouth, it actually tastes OK.
It's odd that I'm having a strong reaction unlike most posters (a few had strong, similar symptoms). I ate nearly a 1/2 pound sack.... o.O
I guess the MD types have better stuff do to than read this forum.

Thanks to everyone that has posted. I bought some from Morrisons in Beverley, UK and started experiencing symptoms 3 days later. I ate them raw. The taste is very much like washing up liquid at the back of the mouth and is much worse after eating. If it is an allergy, like people are suggesting them I'm surprised as I'm not allergic to anything - or so I thought! Three days later and it's still as bad as day one.
At least my partner isn't trying to slowly poison me for the life insurance policy....

Well it's been 8+ days and the bitter taste is still there. I've gotten a little used to it. I can eat most foods now and I'm no longer sick. I just keep thinking tomorrow it will be gone. I did start taking some Vitamin E and some fish oils caps to counter the bad toxic oil, but I can't imagine it's still in my system!!

That took awhile........finally gone.
It took over two weeks.
Plenty of water and oil based vitamins. Lots of home made juicer juices, carrots, beets, celery, berries, etc (bought a juicer!)......done with Chinese pine nuts forever.

Hi oilypablo,
Did you have this ever before these pine nuts?
I usually don't have problems with this magnitude, but sometimes I have bad stomach cramps. Could this be because of the nuts?
