I also read that the problem is caused by the gelatin capsules. The drug is fine, it's just the gelatin in the capsules which creates an acidic reflux because it floats to the top of the stomach and coats the lower half of the esophagus. The best solution is to switch over from the capsules to the tablets.
Until that time, if you are experiencing the heartburn feeling, you can swallow a few gulps of Apple Cider Vinegar followed by a tiny sip of water. It will burn going down, but it gets rid of the heartburn within about 15 minutes. You can repeat the process one or two more times as vinegar is natural and won't cause any harm to you.

The very same stuff happened to me yesterday morning and since your case is about a year old, i was wondering (wanted to ask you) if you felt better eventually?
The immediate discomfort is all gone in my case, but gulping anything hot or spicy is hurting my upper chest.
Will these subside with time?

Same experience with the "stuck in throat" feeling. By day 6 of the meds, it felt like none of the pills were going down all the way. Its like the combination of the medication causing tightening/swelling of the esophagus and the pills being huge and un-lubricated makes it easy for them to get stuck. I can tell you for a fact that HealthnFitness guy is wrong because I did stick my fingers down my throat and I did feel the pill. It was lodged next to my voicebox. I was able to flick it out and it seemed to go a little farther down my throat, but not all the way. I checked the medication web site and it said the pill can be crushed into food. I'm definitely going with that route for the remainder of my treatment. Hopefully this feeling goes away without causing an ulcer.
