So today my son was playing tag and tripped and he broke a nail his fingers are swelling and purple and red dots are on his finger and he can't move his fingers whats causing this?

Put his finger on some ice and take him the the hospital. I can't determine whether or not it's broken but it sounds like a doctor should definitely look at it.
