First off, thanks to everyone who wrote here. I know I'm not alone. I used Flonase 1x per day for 2 days and almost took myself to the psych ER. I thought I was losing my mind. Panic attacks, feelings of extreme fear and dread, agitation. It's been 8 days now and it's much better. I've had panic attacks in the past, but not quite like this. PLEASE , PLEASE report all side effects to the FDA. Anxiety is not listed as a side effect and doctors prescribe this easily. Also, it's now available without a prescription, which means anyone can buy it. This product needs to come with a clear warning. Sending you all prayers of calm from this unsettling experience.

i just started Flonase and I was getting over anxiety from using sucralose that I had totally under control! So I'm on Flonase for allergy and sinusitis for 3 days and I'm experiencing anxiety again. My anxiety is mostly shortness of breath, can't take a deep breath and I pace around nervously worried about my symptom. This of course usually happens at night when I'm trying to sleep and I'll wake up unable to breathe. I'm stopping the Flonase. Good thing I only used one spray today. I started out with 2 sprays each nostril.

Thank you very much for this topic. I started using Flonase about 3 weeks ago and last week suffered my first panic attack in years. i had been feeling anxious and jittery and couldnt explain it. My boyfriend and I traced it back to the Flonase and I stopped taking it. That was two days ago and have been feeling a little better since. i am hoping that in a few days I will be back to normal. It kind of makes me angry that the company that makes this product doesn't even acknowledge that it's a possible side effect. I hope everyone else is feeling better.

Happy to find this thread and realize I'm not alone. I've been taking flonase for a few months and started having extreme non-stop anxiety. I traced it back tot he flonase and it's been about a week every day is a little bit better but I still wake up every morning feeling nervous and anxious, and this feeling pretty much lasts throughout the day. Really hoping that this subsides soon - can anyone in this thread please give an update as to how they are doing now, and how long it took for the anxiety to finally stop? Thank you.

Last night I woke from a nightmare and had throbbing and pressure on top of my head. It took almost an hour to ease up enough so I could get back to sleep. I wondered if I was having something serious going on, like a stroke, but had no other symptoms. This morning I woke feeling groggy and tired. There's less of a pressure feeling on top of my head, but I do have a headache across my forehead now (and around the eye sinuses) and my ears feel plugged. I can only take Tylenol for the headache, but at least I have more energy and I am hoping that eventually the heart pounding will lessen some over time, as well as the pressure and headaches. Fingers crossed. I'm unable to take other allergy meds, so all I have left is saline nasal spray. But it's better than what I was dealing with from the Flonase.

I'm currently 4 weeks off flonase and have recovered significantly but still get random flare ups. How long did it take to go back to normal completely? I can't take it

It will get better, but it takes time. If a doctor recommended it, please tell them about your reaction. Also, please write the FDA about your experience. You can do this easily on their website. Hopefully we can prevent this from happening to others. I wish you a speedy recovery.
