Although a long recovery..I'm glad you are starting to feel better. It happened to me Dec 2015 and me too started feeling much better at like 9 months too. Now it has been 12 months and I feel I'm almost there but still not quite myself. Such a SLOW process!

How are you feeling after a year?
Did you do anything special to get rid of it?

I absolutely had the same experience. I used Flonase for a year. I started having anxiety about a week or so after I started it and never connected the 2. I have never had anxiety in my life until this point. I really thought there was something horribly wrong with me. About a year after starting it I could hardly leave my house. At one point I ran out of it and hadn't had any in about two weeks and my anxiety started to subside. I finally realize the connection. It was a horrible time and I thank the Lord that I'm OK now, but I still have horrible allergies. At one point I went to urgent care and the doctor told me to use the Flonase again because he said he didn't think that's what it was. I went ahead and bought another bottle within five days the anxiety night and I was back and I knew at that point it was definitely the Flonase . Never again

Omg!!! I thought I was crazy! Last September, I ended up in the ER from tingling in my arms, legs, and throat...couldnt breathe ans used my hand to space out my breathing. i thought i was having a heart attack! The doctor said it was hypoglycemia and anxiety attack! I stopped taking all my new meds and supplements, which included flonase. Probably used it about two-three weeks. I was really hungy and had a lor or caffeine when this happened. Fast forward a couple of months and I'm doing ok, but my nose is still stuffed up so I went to a new ENT who told me to take Flonase. I thought it was a fluke and took it again for two-three weeks. Lo nd behold, I had a light breakfast and lot of caffeine, when i started again with the dizziness and tingling. The flonase helped clear my nose for first couple days, but actually made my breathing worse. I thought it was hypoglycemia again and been eating well but still the dizziness ans fogginess. I stopped with the flonase, and three days in, i feel so much better. I can breathe better and don't have the fogginess.

After using Flonase for a couple months, I started experiencing anxiety symptoms for the first time in 17 years. I was SO grateful to find this thread. I still have nervousness and tingling for periods of time, and most often when I haven't eaten for a few hours. I thought I was crazy until I read your comment. I'll read up on adrenal fatigue. Have your symptoms disappeared yet?

I'm with all of you. I had panic attacks for several months in 2016 because of this stuff. I attributed it to everything else I possibly could at the time... started going to a psychologist and the whole 9 yards. Right about the time my script ran out I started to return to normal.

I just requested a refill a few days ago, remembering how much it used to help my clogged sinuses. BAM, right back to that old feeling. There MUST be a correlation of using Flonase and having anxiety and I don't understand how doctors do not know of this already.

I'm so glad I found this post. I stopped flonase less than a week ago after finding this thread. I've had anxiety to some degree most of my life but I've always been able to cope and get through it without too much issue. After using flonase for a few weeks I've been experiencing anxiety and panic like never before. It's constant and when the panic attacks come on my heart rate goes well over 200 and I almost pass out because I hyperventilate so badly. ImI'm a nurse & the first episode happened at work which resulted in 911 being called and me being carried out in a stretcher by EMS. The DR doc said it was most likely SVT, but I have no doubts it was brought on by the flonase. This has exasperated every symptom of anxiety I've ever had. I'm terrified to go to work or even leave my house out of fear that it will happen again. I get random insane panic attacks at any time but also it always comes on when I'm getting ready for or driving to work. To the point that I have to pull over in case I pass out. I have so much chest tightness and it feels like I can never get a full breath. This is ruining my career and my life. My Dr put me on Zyprexa and I have klonopin to take as needed but neither really make it go away. I'm losing my mind over this. I'm not sure I can endure this hell for months on end. I've don't everything I know of to help & I take the meds religiously. Is there any way to ease these symptoms or make this pass more quickly? I'm at wits end.

I've been following this thread now for over a year, and my heart goes out to anyone who is going through this - you are 100% not crazy, and you are 100% not alone. I remember finding this thread and being worried that it would take forever for the anxiety to go away even after stopping the Flonase. It did take some time (a few months at least for me but everyone is different), but please know that it absolutely WILL go away. You'll doubt that it will but I promise you it will. You need to give your body time to recalibrate and get it all out of your system. Remember that it's temporary.

My allergies were bad this year and I was so tempted to go back to Flonase, because it truly was the only thing that ever worked for me. But I fought the urge and I'm glad I did. That stuff obviously affects some people in a terrible way.

Hang in there. You'll be okay!

I am also grateful for finding this post. I've had anxiety my entire life, but I've always been able to manage it in my own, and I've never had to take any medication for it. I got prescribed Flonase for some post nasal drip that was causing my throat to be sore.

After just a few days on it, I suffered a pretty traumatizing panic attack. This has lead me into a deep panic/anxiety spiral that I didn't even know could exist. I can't go to work, I'm afraid to leave the house, and I'm in constant fear in my own home. i know guys, it can feel like hell. Trying to stay positive. It's been about 10 days. I took Flonase today, and it will be my last. I'll update as to how I feel in the next few weeks. I pray to god it is the Flonase.

I took Flonase about a year without major side effects. This spring I stopped and started using a neti pot sinus rinse. The side effects of flonase hit me like a ton of bricks. At first highly increased sexual drive, then mild depression, then anxiety. By two weeks off it I was thinking about a divorce, then suicide. I went to the doctor today and he prescribed a heavy antidepressant.

I looked up the side effects of that drug (holy c**p it was scary) and thought maybe I should check the side effects of the only other drug I'd taken recently, flonase. Just knowing that it might be the cause has made it feel like a weight has been lifted off me. Now with my wifes help I'm going to ride it out for another week and see what happens.

I wanted to update everyone about my post above. It has been 11 days since I took Flonase last. Today is my 1st day back at work! I still have anxiety, but the extreme anxiety/panic/agoraphobia has subsided by at least 90%. The 8th day off Flonase was the 1st day I started to feel better.

Everyone is going to be different. The point is, throw your Flonase out the window and have faith that you will get better. Also, if Flonase caused you to feel anxiety/panic attacks for the 1st time, make sure you learn some coping strategies for dealing with anxiety. It is not like a sore throat, it will not go away completely on its own. You need to arm yourself with the knowledge (what is anxiety? Why does my body respond this way? How does breathing help?) to combat the general anxiety once you start to feel better.

Hang in there. Give it another week or two like you said. Make sure to exercise everyday, and try to meditate. Stay Positive. Communicate any changes to your doctor.

Hi everyone. I have also been experiencing anxiety and panic attacks. I just figured it out about 2 days ago. It is Flonase!! Don't let your doctor tell you otherwise. I was taking Flonase for about 5 to 6 months and gradually could feel something was off with me. I also used to smoke medical marijuana and started thinking that's what it was because I had some anxiety right after smoking. So one night after the gym and having a half a cup of coffee before working out I smoked marijuana and had the worst panic attack ever, I experienced strong palpitations for close to 4 hours, I tried to see if drinking lots of water was helping but no. Finally I tell my girlfriend to take me to the ER. They did the EKG and all other tests and of course everything checks out fine. The doc tells me I had a panic attack and I should consult my doctor. I go back home and make an appointment for the next day. That same night I decided to quit smoking marijuana thinking that is the cause of my panic attack. The next day I go to the doctor, He ends up giving me Paroxetine (Prozac) thinking Im depressed and have strong anxiety. I then go to the lab and do all blood works requested to make sure it wasn't physical. A few days go by and im still going crazy, Im still taking Flonase (2 sprays in each nostrils) one day and the next day I take Zyrtec and so on. I get the lab results back and everything is tip top. So im thinking damn it must be me after all. A week goes by and my still doing my little regiment alternating Flonase and Zyrtec for my allergies. And then one day out of the blue a panic attack hits me stronger than before soooo back to the ER. I almost passed out this time. They ran all the tests again and of course everything is normal. Luckily the first doc I saw was the same one to see me and he was surprised to see me again. This time I told him, Im not leaving until you prescribe me Valium or something similar and He did, Lorazepam for anxiety. Im going to cut this long story short. I went to the ER twice. saw two doctors and the psychiatry department ans roughly $2000 later all these doctors still didnt know what was wrong with me. Im 35 years old and I eat healthy, I exercise 4/5 times a week, I just don't get it. I stopped taking Flonase and Zyrtec for a few days because of other meds the docs prescribed me. One morning I decide, hey my nose is stuffy today let's take some Flonase. That same day later on I started feeling anxious and jumpy and frankly out of body experience almost. I decide to go online and started reading about Flonase and anxiety and sure enough I found all of you guys threads and there is dozens and dozens of forums and thread talking about it!!! In the mean time doctors are telling us Flonase is safe to use, are you kitting me?! You can purchase this poison at the nearest convenience store without any problem. I'v been off Flonase for over three days and still not my-self, I had to take a Lorazepam about 1 hour ago and thank God I feel better now. But really how long is this c**p going to be in my system for? Sorry for the book guys.
