Fluid Leaks from Ears

and? is there anything that can be done about it? i do have problems with inflamation. so i dont doubt it could be connected.

My ears only leak when I am angry. Seriously. So when they leak I look for whatever might be making me angry.

Just a little advise I'm have the same problem due to using peroxide. Its only should be use once a month the best thing to clean your ears with is ear wax remover drops

Allergies aren't always medically testable. It has taken me years to rule out mine and none of them showed up on their panel. Their tests only test for an anaphylactic shock response and nothing else so it is limited. Unfortunately figuring it out on your own is a painful long drawn out process. I myself am allergic to moulds, dust mites, dairy, penicillin (moulds) maple syrup, molasses, and some pollens. None give me an anaphylactic response but give me migraines and sinus congestion and black eyes. I get the ear drip thing too and maybe there is another allergen that I am missing - it could be that I have been using my boyfriends pillows that don't have dust mite covers on them (yet!!) Try an elimination diet process. I wish you loads of luck on it too.

I take allergy pills and use flonase and both my ears leak every night. Interferes with sleep, is awful. Any other ideas?

Hi Joleina, I have same symptoms.flowing from both ears and they itch too. The fluid is a crusty dried matter that is so hard to get out because it hurts and leaves the ear sore. Gone to Dr and he said I had an ear infection and after antibiots the problem returned. I have tried everything to no avail. I am going out of my mind! Any other suggestions? tHANKYOU, TERRY

I have one ear pit on my right ear. But both of my ears drain, almost daily. They really start if I start to tear up/cry. It does not drain from the pit. It drains from the inside of my ears. It is like my eyes drain into my ears. The draining will sometimes wake me up at night.

I had leaky discharge and scab like pieces that would come out of my ears for years. Not one single doctor could figure out what the problem was after numerous visits. It was very annoying and I was self conscious about it as well. I used Pantene Shampoo and never thought that could be causing my issue. Until one day I picked up another type of shampoo (I bought Head & Shoulders for normal hair). WOW...to my amazement, my ears healed within a couple weeks and I've been leak and itch free in my ears for many years now! I switched my shampoo--I was allergic to it! I got to thinking about it the other day and started to wonder if anyone else had the same issue. So now I'm here letting you know what helped me with my leaky/itchy ears. I know it probably won't help everyone that deals with this issue, but if someone gets relief from my post I'll be happy. Here's wishing you good luck!

Got to a different ear nose and throat doc. and ask for them to check for an inner vestibular weakness. I when I was 17 I had the same symptoms and it escalated even worse to the point where I started to get vertigo. I went to 3 different ent'a the last one tested me for an inner vestibular weakness test and found out that my one ear had a weak inner ear. After that I went to balance therapy and I felt way better.

I have had this for about a year now. I went thru several doctors who 1. Said I was fine 2. Saidd it was impossible. 3. Gave up. 4. Looked at me like I was making it up. Even tho I saved a bag of the dried stuff to show him. I also asked if these could be sent to a lab to see what it is. Never happened. I have found a way to manage it altho it kind of makes me wonder if there will be side effects. I put Cipro HC drops in once a week and it seems to do the trick. I hope its not creating a larger problem in the future. But I dont know what else to do. Cipro is saving my sanity.

I am relieved that I am not the only one experiencing these symptoms. Both of my ears leak constantly. Some times clear, sometimes light brownish. No pain, just constant annoyance. I do have a humming sometimes crackling noise going on. When I lay down at night it sounds like a party going on in there.

I clean with Qtips because it drives me crazy. It makes me feel dirty. I will be making a dr appt, I hope he doesn't laugh at me because I might just have to punch him!

I have had the same effects going on for now over 10 years plus. My ears especially at night will fill with fluids and drain out of my ears. Then when I wake up it is all crusted and when I clean them they begin to get itchy and ache many times. I can hear the fluid in my ears and fill it. I have had bad allergies over the past 7 years. I found out I am allergic to timothy grass and baja grass which is hay. I had to move to get away from it. I have not had many allergies since moving fromt he hay areas but my ear continue to be wet and full of fluid, itch and drain and especially at night. It males it hard to sleep. please help find some answers. I have to take predisone to help dry them up so I an sleep. It does not effect my hearing at all just very uncomfortable and tired of having this problem. I will not even swim under water cause if i do it will worsen the ears.
