I just read what Dr. Gupta wrote. I don't think my issue has anything to do with the things he described. Much more benign. No infection, no physical injury. Any other ideas?

I have the same issues and have so for many years. I take zyrtec as well as a few other medications and the liquid continues. I have been told by an ENT doctor that my eustachian tube never matured as i grew because of a problem as a child. The problem came about because of fluid behind my ear drum and because i never received a tube in my ear to relieve the liquid. Later in life i received a tube. The fluid drained and hearing was way better. Tube cane out a year later and again ear infections, pain, etc. four years ago another tube and better again. Tube was taken out three weeks ago and now fluid is back. I guess the question i have is as follows: what is the next step for me. Is there a surgery that i need?

I've been having the same problem for a few weeks now and finally called my doctor. I go in tomorrow but she thinks it's possible Impetigo. Usually more common in kids but with symptoms and in both ears that's her opinion now we will see tomorrow. If so, it's not dangerous but will only go away with a topical and oral antibiotic and can be very contagious! If a different prognosis I'll update post. GOOD LUCK! I'm going CRAZY from it!!!

That is exactly what happens to me. If I remove the build up/crust they leak. I also use Neosporin to help. I've noticed it helps prevent build up (since I CANNOT stand the crust and pick at it) but it dissolves quickly (end of night/midday) & I hate having to reapply so much.

You describe my 3 years of symptoms TO THE TEE. Doctors say eczema but I don't accept that because why would it just come on all of a sudden at 40 yrs old.

Also, drinking alcohol seems to exacerbate it for me, how about you?

Obviously the problem is too new, when there's no helpful knowledge to be found to solve the problem with.
Perhaps detox days, such as fasting and raw food juicing, might be the way to go on this. Allowing the body's own natural intelligence to clean out and heal things naturally.
I'm guessing that We are experiencing some of the symptoms/side-effects of pollutions, such as the loads of th white lines in the sky, that just stay intact really long after the planes have passed (when normally since yeeeaars they scatter out nearly as fast as the plane flies by).

ONE THING THAT HELPS ! ! ! ...and may be able to heal it for good.
Applecider vinegar!
You can dip a q-tip in it and rince your ears carefully with it, and put 2drops in the ear before you shower, where it gets washed out smooth n easy.

let the ears wash out
by just dripping applecider vinegar (biological) in them
before you go shower where its washed away smooth n easy.
Note: the first few days it stings!!!, but less and less as it heals more n more day by day.
