I would like to see how many of you grew up around cigarette smoke also how many of you have poor hearing. I have had the issue of ear drainage (clear) and itching; I have found that allergy medicine helps, but I believe it has something to do with growing up in a house that both parents smoked

Take sudaphed. The stuff kept behind the counter. It’s fluid in the middle ear. It’ll throw your equilibrium off and make you extremely ill. I was so ill from it that I continued to throw up if I moved my head. My mom went and bought the sudaphed and it dried the fluid up no problem. Take the suggested dose though. It will make you sleepy.

I’ve had this problem for the longest time I was told that I have collapsed tubes I can’t remember the professional term for it big word disorder but apparently it has something to p p your tubes in your ears not working correctly and allergies makes it worse I was told I needed surgery to re open the tubes but I have yet to make an appointment so I can’t tell you if it actually works

You need to have the ear drained and a tube put in...and i am surprised the ENT didn't tell you that you need a myringotomy..

I see all these post from over a year ago. So don’t know if anyone else will tune into this . Wanted to share my experience of the same leaking of both ears over three years now with numerous drips to ears nose and throat specialist , antibiotics etc. finally being told that it’s not an infection. It’s an allergy
Pay attention to this realated to sugar intake. Even artificial sweeteners. Also suggest candling the ears . After three years of excessive popping and drainage during day but mostly at night I had the best night every after doing the ear candling the very first time!!! Try not eating any sugar or naturally sugary fruits and see if that effects the ear fluid.

You need to see a good neurologist about CSF leaks. You may have one. A good ENT might be a good choice too. Ask the ENT to test the fluid to see if it is CSF. I have a CSF leak and it makes me dizzy, nauseated, and a metallic taste that is accompanied by severe headaches. It only happens when I’ve been up a lot. I had an epidural blood patch done at Cedars-Sinai and it helped tremendously.
