My mom recently had a "quintuple bypass" open heart surgery. She's had seven stents in her minor arteries, but this time one of her main arteries was blocked so bypass surgery must had be done!
The recovery has been painful and slow but she's getting there. Now my question is:
Her left leg is has become swollen especially right before and after the incision where they took the veins from. Is this normal after a surgery? Her doctor said it was "normal" but she was prescribed antibiotics. Aren’t' Antibiotics to treat an infection? She is in a lot of pain and can't really walk, when she's walked around the house and does minor chores "entirely up to her" and against our advice!
So.. what is this fluid stuff? She seems to have scare tissues on her leg and she describes "three lil balls" on her leg that hurt before the incision "around the inner thigh. She's also diabetic, so I am very concerned.
I have been taking care of her to the T and would hate for anything to happen due to someone else's negligence or for 'listening" to the pros? Any advice would be greatly appreciate it!
