Hi Did anyone on here find out for definite what it was? I've been getting this for the last week now and the only way I could describe it was like a twitchy feeling almost like my stomach rumbling only less intense and lasts longer, under the left side of my ribs. No change to physical activity. It happens at different times. Occasionally when I'm stood up, but more often when I'm sitting or laying down. Occasionally I've noticed when I'm laying down the bottom of my left breast visibly twitches very slightly when it comes on. I get the occasional sharp pain in that area as well but it lasts a second and it's only been a couple of times in the last week, whereas this fluttering seems to be on and off constantly through every day. Dunno if its age related cause the majority of people on here seem to be in their early 20s and I'm 24

Bummer I was really hoping there was a baby kicking in there.  I haven't been pregnant since I was 21 now 33.  It is the same feeling.  I will laugh if I end up on one of those shows, I didn't know I was pregnant.

Just to say that I have had this for about 25 years and nothing has happend to me. I used to describe it as it felt like bubbles passing through my center (when I was young I thought my heart) years later I notice it happend when I breathed in bad smells (cleaning chemicals, nail polish. etc.) I started to wonder if it was more lungs then heart. Now that I am 44 I notice it happening much more frequent. Almost daily. I would consider myself someone with axiety. I also wonder if it is hormonal since I am 44 and it has increased. But just wanted to mention

I'm amazed no one has been able to explain what causes this. 5 pages of posts and literally not one clue.

I'm a 28 year old male, smoker though no health issues. I've noticed I get the fluttering when I'm hungover. Same effects as everyone else, no actual pain, just comes and goes irregularly and is annoying. I get the impression it's coming from my lower left lung, almost like my lung is decompressing slightly. But that's probably not right because my breathing is perfectly normal during the flutters.

Can somebody finally give us all an answer??

Im glad I found this. fluttery/wavy under the rib cage but Im not feeling any pain. aynways its not the firsttime that I experienced this sensation. just this morning in the office I just had Milk and custard sandwhich then after that I felt this weird feelin again. the first time I exp. was I thought it was a heart problem since my cannot breath like the acid effect because that time i take coffee in empty stomach. then I rushed in the ER i take malox and got ECG then later I got 2D echo for my heart thank God it wall came out well. now I just have gaviscon in my table just incase it's attacking again..but its really uncomfortable right that you will panic :)) anyways...for those experiencing with pain you better check to a doctor just a double check. prevention is better than cure. then sometimes i woke with my heartbeating fast wheni eat something oily its just acid reflux...sometimes i wake up in the right like I pause my breathing then i rushly drink water just to relieve..i think its just associate with anxiety attack also..i have many issue in my body :p anyways be happy ok . cheers

I have had this same thing since I was very young. It seems to happen more when I sneeze hard or when I'm in an awkward position. As a child I noticed it more in the bathtub when I would rinse my hair under the tub faucet. I really feel that it's a spasm of some kind. It kind of feels like bone on bone.

Hi for the past few days I'm getting pulsating pain (not bad) just uncomfortable in right side of rib cage. When I move in bed it's like I'm out of breathe for second. I just cleaned bathroom and it's now pulsating. I get out of breathe or heave for second when I bend over I'm hoping it's muscle and will eventually go away. I'm 28 and I went trampoline last weekend and pulled then. I have never had this weird pain before. Wondering if doctors will even do anything for it just tell me to rest. Please help.

I have this exact experience that you have described. Sitting seems to bring it on the most while bending my right knee toward chest can sometimes cause a severe spasm that really hurts!
