Hi, I am new to this site. I had to go to an ENT specialist and she told me that I could have two of bad things.
Cancer of the neck, or cancer of the salava gland.
It has gotten bigger, and more painful.
I go on the 14th, so she can read my cat scan which was done.
Why would a Doctor just come out with something like this, even if they are not sure.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
Thanks for listening.

I have an infection in my lymph nodes under my right ear and was put on antibiotics and 800 mg. Ibprofen and was told it should go away after taking the medicine. If it doesn't, they will try a different medicine. They give no reason for getting this infection. It was sooo very painful the first time it started. I was a constant pain that would not go away. I ended up going to the ER to find out what it was. They did a CT and lab work, that's when I was told it was sinusitis and an inner ear infection. But when I went to the doctor today, she told me it is an infection in my lymph nodes. I am concerned because I never had this before and worried it might not get better. Can anyone tell me anything about this, if you have experienced this, why it happens and if it can mean something more serious? I thought I got bit by an insect, but doctor assures me that didn't happen.
