Hi all, just wanted to ask you a question, wasn't sure what to do.
So basically, I'm 15, and have recently realised that my foreskin doesn't seem to retract as well as it could. When flaccid, I can retract fully, with no problems, however the, head of my penis seems to dip downwards, with the frenulum pulling it down. There are no problems however - it doesn't hurt at all. When I become erect, I cannot pull my foreskin back anywhere near as far - I can pull it over the head, and past the glands, probably about 2-3cm downwards, before the frenulum really begins to pull on the penis head - the frenulum becomes white with tension, and as blood flows into the head and it becomes bigger, I can pull even less. It seems that my frenulum is too short, but there is the problem of telling my parents - I'm not sure how to tell them, and I'm not even sure if I need surgery. Any suggestions would be fantastic, as I've had this on my mind for the past few days, and I really don't know what to do.
Thanks.

From your description I think you are just about average.
Mine was exactly like that and I suspect most guys are.
On the forum here we mostly hear from people who have a problem.

After I got married and began having unprotected sex every night, my frenulum tore. The first time, I just let it heal and it was no longer than before. The next time I wrapped it so the ends wouldn't heal back together and it was a little longer. I think I used toilet paper and rolled the foreskin back over it. It tore 3 or 4 more times and in a few months it was out of the way completely. Now my foreskin is able to roll all the way back so the tip is at the base of the shaft. This leaves the inner foreskin stretched over the whole shaft. The inner foreskin has special stretch sensitive nerve endings that add a lot of pleasure during sex. It's also nice to be able to stretch it back so you can rub the whole inner skin and head during masturbation.

So basically, you are fine just the way the are, or you can get it out of the way for even more pleasurable sex, if you want to.

If you decide to have a doctor cut it for you, be sure to have a serious talk with her/him so she/he does exactly what you want. It wouldn't be much fun to go through that and find it's still too short afterwards. Doctor's don't seem to abide by the same rules we expect of tradesmen. I've never heard of one doing the job over for free because he/she didn't do it right the first time.

Thank you very much! Kind of relieved me in a way. Just really wasn't sure what to do. I think I might leave it for a year or two. When I do finally go through with having sex, if I have any problems, then I'll be sure to deal with it then. The only thing I was worried about was the Frenulum tearing whilst having sex. Does it really hurt?

It was not very painful for me, but some guys on here say it was for them. So I guess we're all different that way and you won't know until it happens.

Somehow I can't believe it would hurt any more to have it tear naturally than to have a doctor cut it. I know they will numb it before they do it but that wears off and the cut is still there. I didn't feel it tear during sex. It was only afterward when I discovered it was bleeding. So I doubt that it hurt me any more than if the doctor had done it. The only thing is if the doctor does it right, you only have to do it once. Mine tore 3 or 4 times before it was completely out of the way.

Also the needle will probably hurt as much as the tears did. When I got the vasectomy he didn't stick me just once. He stuck me several times to numb the whole area. I felt the first four stabs, at least.

Considering my age now, almost 70, when I went through that we didn't have the options you have today. If I went to a doctor back then about a frenulum that I wanted to have modified for better sex, he would have laughed me out of his office, or offered to cut the whole foreskin off. Or called the pervert police. >;)

Hah, I understand now. You make perfect sense, and I think I'll follow what you said, I was just worried about the consequences in the future when having sex. But either way, thank you very much!
