I keep seeing people relating anxiety to it but I'm almost certain it has to do with shifting your brain into different states of wave frequencies

It's funny that I found this post, I've had these exact same symptoms about 7 years ago. I still get the "buzzing" feeling in my brain from time to time when I'm trying to relax and close my eyes. Almost like my eyes involuntarily roll into the back of my head and my brain emits this quick, strong "buzz". A buddy and I used to do MDMA all of the time one summer, lots of it. One night we were talking and he shared to me that he got those exact same buzzing symptoms. To this day I've never met anybody who's had these symptoms or who even remotely understands what I'm talking about. It used to really worry me. Don't to drugs.

I dont think you are nuts or need a psychiatrist, what you are saying sounds like it is coming from a sound mind. I have started having a buzzing vibration inside my head, it comes on at night and usually wakes me up. It doesnt happen during the day, it doesnt happen at night, unless i have been asleep and it wakes me. I know it is not a dream as i have sat up in bed and examined what is happening, paying careful attention as to where the feeling is coming from and whether it is real. I know it is real but its hard to describe and my doctor said she had never heard of anything like it. I have had an MRI and have 'white space', unexplained and have an appointment with a Neurologist who will explain it to me. I feel certain there will be no explaination for the buzzing, vibration. I know it is not epilepsy as i am an epileptic and this does not follow the symptoms at all, it is something different which started only 2 months ago.
My epilepsy started aged 15 and finished aged 45, have not had a siezure for 15 years now.

You may have a good point. I had this happen several times in one day - one time at ER. They could find nothing wrong. However, my new doctor had taken me off metoprolol. I'd been off just a few days. Several days after the ER visit, it started again and I took a metoprolol. That stopped it. So, I am now back on metoprolol. Maybe, as you suggest, it was the sudden stopping instead of doing it gradually. Anyway, that day was my only experience with this. I hope never to have it again.

I have that too and I think it is related to taking Tramadol. I have had it off and on ever since I started taking that drug. I am not sure of it but it seems to happen mostly when I'm close to time to take my next dose. Tramadol is generic for Ultram. It is for pain and is addictive. Is anyone else having a zoom zoom sensation while taking that. It does feel like something electrical in my head.

OMG you just describe exactly all my symptoms. Interesing I also have tinnitus and when I have the “ episodes “ I hear and feel like a pumping zumbin in my head . I recently had a microdiscectomy and few months later a spinal fusion. I have been blaming this on medications like oxycodone and sertraline. The episodes are getting worse! I will definitely mention it to my neurosurgeon next week.

Was it Lyrica? Or Lyriana? I cannot find "Lyria" when I try and Google it.
