Hello, I want to know more about getting over addiction? My uncle has a gambling problem, at least I think he has, so I would like to know more about this condition. More important, I would like to know is this treatable and how? I appreciate any suggestion and answer.

Hi there. Luckily there is a proper treatment for this. Because if this was not a case, I would probably be in jail today instead of talking with you on this subject. Like with any addiction, gambler can’t control himself not to gamble and he feels a great urge to gamble more and more. If it wasn’t for my family to pay my debts I would be totally ruined. I gambled so much that I stayed on the table for the whole night and more. But then I hit the bottom and I said to myself that now it is time to get up and deal with this addiction. I was told that this was the most important step. I joined a group therapy and “12 step program”, so here I am now. Of course I don’t even play card s now but it is worth it. I hope that this story will help your uncle, but all is up to him.
