gray color in hands

I am so glad I came on here. I was having a panic attack over the same issue tonight. My hands were grey! Then I cam to the jean post. Omg. I was wearing new dark wash old navy jeans. How crazy!! I love the internet. Now I can sleep well tonight! Thanks!!!

I also have a problem with iron and have an issue with my hands turning grey

I have the same symptoms as the previous bloggers. My hands turn a blue gray color, it is not set off by anything it just happens randomly. I was sitting in class the other day and both my hands turned a complete shade of blueish gray. They also get really cold but do not go numb. I have had several blood tests done but they all came back normal and the doctor told me he doesnt know what it is. I have been doing some more research as to why this may happen, maybe blood clots? All these tests are getting expensive. If anyone knows why this happens let me know?

My ex-husband called concerned because his left hand had turned grey. Only the palm and the tips of his fingers. He has no history of heart disease, pulmonary problems...vascular disease...not on any medication. He is in good health and felt fine. He came right over for my opinion. The hand had capillary refilling in nail beds, palm and fingers, but had a real grey/blue color. Radial pulse was normal and equal to right, hand was warm, no loss of sensation. I googled the problem and came upon this blog...nothing fit until page 2..."I KNOW WHAT IT IS"...and lo and behold, he is wearing brand new, super dark Levi's, only washed once!!! We went to the kitchen, I sprayed Windex on his hand, scrubbed it good, rinsed and Voila' problem solved!! His hand is now pink and normal in appearance. Thanks for your help, we might have ended up in the ER as it looked so alarmingly blue!

I just had my daughter wash hers hands. It came off. within 5 mins her hands were gray again. Had her change her jeans, wash her hands and all it good. Can you believe it. As big scare like that because of the dye in her jeans. Well thanks for the tips. Saved a trip to the Dr. office.

I have the samwe thing that just started recently, happens multiple times a day based on my research it sounds like something called Raymuands Syndrome, overall its not a serious thing but they say you should get checked just in case because sometimes its caused by underlying more serious issues, although a lot of cases its just the Raymaunds thing itself which is incurable but not anything serious either

I have Raynauds....Saturday I woke up to my right hand feeling really weird not numb just strange.  My hand looked black like I had dipped it in motor oil and hand wiped most of the excess off.  It was so weird...I showed my husbands, whos responds was to jump straight out of the bed( and say wth..)  I did not go to the ER but wish I had, it stay that color all day until 1am sunday then disappeared.  My Raynauds does not last this long nor has it ever looked like this. Today, my left hand was a rusty color that has never gone away.  He is run all sorts of blood test

I am so shocked to even see people have searched the words, graying knuckles i thought i was going crazy.for the for the past 3 days, usually at night, my hands get a rash. It doesn't spread or itch just the outsides get real dry and bright red. My knuckles turned bright gray, fingers swelled, got stiff and numb.my feet and hands were freezing and i t was 86° in room and I was wearing layers and my coat and still my teeth were chattering. I am on a lot of medication but never seen or experience d this before. I'm scared. I've also been on depo shot for 5 Yrs and don't get my PD so maybe I'm not releasing enough iron in my blood? Not sure. I'd like to compare symptoms.

I have fibro, cyst on thyroid, osteoarth., PseudoTumorCerebri, BonePain, Hate the Barometer cold changes, and my neurologist ask about greying of feet and hands always on first meets.  Yes its a conditions but Im up late and can't think.  I'll look it up.  Mayo clinic or Living strong with bike champion Lance website has a article I believe.  I have a problem with my blood pressure numbers getting close together and when that happens I can fall out. period. drop to the ground or on a table.  My hands did it in the middle of the night and I had weird feeling and rubbed my arms and the feelings and grey lasted for a few minutes and the color came back slowly. Take care and keep asking questions.

you are awesome, seriously. I just got new jeans and they are a dark dye. I kind of feel like a dumb*ss, but I'm so glad you posted this!

It probably is a bit with me too.. my hands are darker than my rest of the body. It changes anytime and its a little bit with my feet too..

I have the same sort of occurrence with me left hand. It only seems to happen to my left hand and not my right, which is sort of odd. What have you been told about this by your doctor?

Im so glad I found this! I too had this for about two days and had no idea what it was. I was wearing a new pair of old navy dark jeans! So glad that is all it truly is. Did anyone notice stiff fingers afterwards? As if the dye was truly in our bloodstream?

This is happening to me, but it is on my arms.  It looks like I am wearing dead body make up.  My elbows get really dark purple/ blue/grey.  Rest of my arms look a dead pale color.  It has been happening more noticeably at night.  It will happen no matter what I have worn-- tank tops to sweaters.  I haven't worn new jeans or any jeans in a really long time. None of my clothes are new.  I wish it was some sort of dye rubbing off on me.
