hello,
having had many other surgerys and the last before the prostrate being two knees:
when i had my knees done, the anestethia has narcotics in it which blocks the neurotransmitters
that stops or slows the gut down. a five day stay turned into a 13 day stay in.
so this time i talked to the anestithiologist and she understood and i did a spinal.
although i became restless during the green laser treatment and they gave me a very old drug called
vetermine? spelling may not be correct but it contains no narcotics,(vets use it to put pets to sleep during
operations but it causes bad dreams and some squirliness. to say the least. but it worked.
i woke up thinking i was killing my general practice guy.
i am still haveing trouble getting the urine out and wondered if having an illeostomy (13ft)
of small intestine would have anything to do with my recovery. i am loosing fluid in my ostomy and
also have alot less absorbtion of fluid.
i feel like there is something restricting my urine. it is there but wont come out.
any other illeostomys out there have laser green light??
what was your experience.
thanks

Hi cbell, I am trying to figure out what happened here but I'm still sort of picking through your post. I think that the urination problems could be as easily related to the drug that you took as it could be your intestinal surgery. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? I think it would be worth your time to check it out. What do you think?
