grooves or semi deep lines on the head of my penis

im 15 and i also have this problem. when i try and stretch the penile head they dont go away

Im 17 and I have the same thing, the grooves, lines what ever you call them, but I also have little tiny pin point size spots on it too?

I'm 17 and I have the same problem. It seems that it's something that just happens to guys that are circumcised and don't have a foreskin to protect their glands. I guess God gave it to us for a reason... just another small "bump" in the road of this journey we call life. Haha.. haha..ha... Sigh* :P

I'm pretty sure that this is somewhat caused by excess masturbation, especially if you are not circumsized and dont use lubricant. It seems that all that vertical tugging  on the head of the penis can over time lead to the skin seperating soonewhat to better accomodate the amount of stretching and pulling that it is being subjected to. This could be more prevelant if the masturbation started when you were younger and the foreskin was mich tighter around the penis head, this causes even more friction between the two and may cause deeper grooves in the head. In most cases it goes away when the penis becomes erect because the grooves tend to spread out and become wider and less deep. However they can remain even when erect just not to the same degree as when flaccid. Overall I would say that this is pretty normal and you guys don't have much to worry about, most women wont even notice these types of things and it should not interfere with your sex life. It can cause pain however, if the grooves are pretty deep and there is alot of violent tugging or downward prresure on the penis head. In that case you may want to inform your partner that you are in pain so that they know to treat you delicately. The best way to avoid this problem in my opinion would be to use los of lubricant when masturbating and in sexual intercourse, this should help to precent it from happening in the first place and help to prevent it from worsening over time. This is most likely causes by the absence of a foreskin. With a foreskin, the head of the penis stays moist, smooth, and shiny. Without the foreskin, the head of the penis dries out, becomes keratinized, and the skin thickens. This causes the grooves because the grooves are an effect of the keratinized skin. If you restore your foreskin, the grooves will go away because the think skin will actually shed because of all of that extra moisture.

Where do you get that most guys have a smooth head? In my experience as a gay man, it is extraordinarily rare. I also think it's just genetic.

Hi guys, I'm 17 years old and I too have stretch or groove looking marks on the head of my penis, I have never contracted an STD either so it can't be related to that. When I am erect the grooves disappear and the head will be totally smooth if i stretch it enough. Maybe it's just natural?

I am 16 and also have what sounds to be the same issue since i was about 13 or 14.if you guys are having the same issue as me-there are deep lines,cracks,wrinkles or whatever you wanna call them in your penis head.

they are way more obvious when erect or just after an erection,

they are completly painless,and dont heal whether or not you abstain from masturbation.Is this similiar to the problem you guys have ?

They have caused me to lose alot of confidence and whatnot,but i think i finally have a clue as to what it is and what caused it,and although i am starting to think it isnt curable,finally knowing what it is does give me some piece of mind.

i think it is related to a benign toungue condition called fissured toungue,which is harmless typically merely cosmetic disease of the toungue which causes deep grooves/fissures in the toungue, wikipedia says affects 2-5% of people.go ahead and look it up.although its very hard to find any information on this occuring on the penis head/glans, i have found one paper by a doctor in canada talking about a patient who had with a condition that sounds identical to mine

As for anyone really worried about this, although it looks strange it is completely harmless, I am still a virgin  but i am sure that any kind and thoughtful girl would accept it in a loving relationship,and im not positive, but im pretty sure it would look alot less obvious with a condom on.

i will keep checking this forum in the future to see if or what anyone has to say about this?i think knowledge of other people with the same condition would  relieve alot of the stress and anxiety sorounding this condition.

Then again this is just a theory,If anyone has any definite advice on what this is or a way to cure it,it would be hugely appreciated.

I also think if any of you guys agree with me on this isue,we should maybe post this idea to the many other forum sites with guys complaining about these lines in the penis head, the more people who know about this issue,the more likely we are to find a cure or a way to deal with it.

Hey there I do not know for sure because I don't have a picture of what your guys penises actually look like but based on your explanation it seems like just a normal variation of a penis. Not all penises are supposed to smooth and it's part of the extra skin and tissue that is present think about it your skin has to stretch when it gets an erection well when you erection goes down your skin has to go somewhere so it turns into wrinkle. Are you guys growers which means that your penis is relatively small when flaccid but fairly large when you get erect ?.
