No, your reaction is not really normal. No one should get an itchy and sore penis after sex, not even after their first time.
I may think that your penis became itchy if you maybe used some kind of lubrication as a reaction to it but it rarely happens and you would usually develop it right away.
Most STD’s show symptoms after two to three weeks and I reckon you should see a doctor. You shouldn’t blame your girlfriend for transmitting it to you because many STD’s don’t show any symptoms, especially in girls and may go undetected.
Your girlfriend should get tested too, so that you are both treated and cured and that once cured can practice safe sex without any worries.
While this may be just yeast infection (usually not considered an STD), it also needs treatment, so the sooner you see an urologist and get a proper treatment the better.
