I went Friday, the 6th for my tonsillectomy. I am 27 and was scared to death. I feel some of am improvement more each day, this is only day 3 so.. its gonna be a while. My questions are: I was told it would take a good 2 weeks to recover, but I work outside and I do a lot of strainious work.. would it take me longer to heal? I'd rather take 3 weeks off and make sure they heal right. Second question is Although it is a very painful procedure, and a major surgery.. if you take your pills right, they work. I know this for a fact. Everytime I take mine, I fall asleep. It calms me down, and hopefully it heals it quicker. Last question is, when the sores scab up.. how do you know? I mean will you swallow the scabs or will they just fall out? I was a nervous wreck the day of it, I had to lay for 3 hrs before I went back to the OR.. so that didnt help things.. but if the precidure helps me with not getting sick as I used to.. then it was all worth it.
Thanks

i just got my tonsils and adenoids removed on tuesday, i was told a 2 week recovery, and i work around horses, and a lot of dust, mold, and things that can cause a infection to the healing wounds. I am also wondering about the recovery period since i work outside 6 days a week, on top of a lot of hard work, lifting heavy wheel barrows, and handling very strong horses. i am taking two weeks off, should i take a little bit more time off, or slowly get myself back up to 6 days a week, like start out working 3 days a week, then the next up to 4, and increase every week? ? i have been taking my pills every 4 hours up until yesterday, and i honestly think that no one should depend on their pills, and they should allow the healing process to be almost natural, becasue if you depend on them and then they are all gone, and something goes wrong like the scab being re opened it will help to have them instead of waiting for the doctor to call more in. Also with the scabs im at the same point, they told me they are supposed to fall off and you just swallow them, but if the bleed call the doctor right away
