Everyone who responded to my original question has had the same response from their doctors. Mine is worse when sitting. Standing it is not as bad but still there.

I am 67 years old male. When I wait too long to urinate in other words very full bladder, when I start my stream I feel pain/pleasure in just my hands, the pain goes away very quickly while I am still urinating I think it has something to do with acupuncture.

The tingling and pain in my hands happens to me also when I have a strong urge to urinate. It goes away as the urge passes.

Nov.2016: I am in an icu with my 91 yr old dad who has exacerbation of chf with sob. .
a urinary catheter was placed 2 days ago. Since it's placement my dad reports a weird pain in both hands fingers wrists and sometimes forearm when his bladder drains. Nobody at hosp has heard of it before. But there is obviously something to it because his complaint is consistent and you all are reporting it. Good luck. I will question docs more too.

I too and troubled with this issue. Right before and for the first couple of seconds when I urinate my hands feel like electricity is shooting through them. Any doctors I've talked to about it just look at me as if I'm making something up. It's extremely frustrating.

What other symptoms should I look for?

Thank you for your theory. I've frequently have a radiating sensation in my palms when urinating when my bladder is very full - associated with the initial release of urine and accompanying feeling of relief. I recently had a low-grade fever with queasiness, achiness, and fatigue (presumably a mild viral infection) that, for one day, seems to have caused the sensation at every urination, which is why I looked up the issue. I'm in my 70s, have Reynaud's Syndrome (diagnosed some 40 years ago), but am otherwise in very good health with no chronic conditions. I frequently have referred sensations to my palms, soles of my feet, and elsewhere during massage and "activator method" chiropractic sessions that I associate with release of tension in the area being worked on. This is an area that I wish allopathic medical researchers would take more seriously.

I started having pain when I urinate on the skin between my thumb and index finger after having a hysterectomy, bladder tack, and having some skin grafts, etc. It's good to see that others have had similar issues.

My first symptom of a urinary tract infection is "electric painful" fingers with urination. Within the next 12 hours, the rest of the symptoms occur: urgency, frequency, urinating very small amounts, pink-tinged urine, then bloody urine. The stinging and painful fingers with urination only stops after the second or third antibiotic pill. My doctor listens but doesn't have an idea why this happens. Any help?

Yes! I have had that before BM only, but for all my life! It isn't every time, but most times. I'm glad to know I'm not alone

I get this too. I think it's caused by a slight infection of the tip of the urethra tube. I start drinking a lot of water, and start dabbing myself with a bit of toilet tissue soaked in a solution of tea tree oil and water (about 3/4 water) and it clears up usually within 24 hours.

I googled this because I have severe pain
In both palms when I urinate BUT I went to the doctor and I do have a UTI. This only happens when I have an infection. I read it was referred pain. I am researching this. FACE
