I have the same problem when cystitis occurs. The palms of my hands begin to sting as soon as I urinate. I rub the palms together to ease the pain. What causes this?

I thought I was the only one with this problem. Haven't mentioned it to anyone in case they laughed at me. Very painful when I urinate- I've had this for years. I am 75 years old. Recently had spinal surgery. Have Chronic Kidney disease and other problems. I mean to mention it to my Renal doctor when I see him in a few weeks time.

Wow! Thought I was nuts. Uristat helps some but not for long. No help from Dr but glad to hear I'm not alone.

Hi all. I have been in this line for several years. I Was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May. I was treated with Cyber Knife Radiation and now have a clean bill of health. For what it is worth, I have a much lesser degree of pain when I urinate now. My guess is that the tumor in the prostate has shrunk and there is less pressure thereby relieving the stain. My hands rarely hurt when I go.

I know that this is an old thread but I can 100% relate. When I really need to pee my hands cramp and get painfully tinglely. Like you decribed it feels like and electric shock. My ring and pinkie finger on my left hand take the brunt of it but both hands hurt. I have never mentioned it to a doctor for fear they will think that I am nuts.

I have told two doctors. One said he has never heard of this and the other said "well you know everything is connected." Obviously, he had no clue as to why this happens. Everyone who has responded to this thread has received no answer from their doctor as to why it happens.

I also experience a surging sensation from my both wrists into the hand palm when first urinating. The first time i remember it happening was during a preeclamptic pregnancy (extremely high blood pressure) about 12 years ago. Still feels like high blood pressure during that first 20 seconds of urine stream. Not really painful, but an uncomfortable surging sensation from wrist to palm. Would love to know what that’s about, too!

I am a male and have the exact same issue. Doctor blew me off and went on to something else.

Yes. I'm 45and have had that problem for years. I believe it is referred pain because it only seems to happen when I really have to go and have held it for too long. I'll have to look up the reflexology.
