I had my first HIDA SCAN yesterday. I've been having so much pain the last month my Dr recommended it - coughing up bile, dizziness, stomach chest and back pain.
Well, yesterday, they injected the CCK and I experienced the typical extreme cramping. I was told my test is normal. But now, I have this new pain, shooting up and down the sides of my body, a long with a different chest pain. I feel as though something is sitting on my chest and squeezing my insides together. Is this normal?

Wow. I just saw this post. Now it is a year later. How are You? Did you have surgery. I wonder what happened after you saw your physician.

You may want to have your Doctor check your pancreas — it could possibly be pancreatitis. Also a lot of pancreatic pain can be felt bear the slower spine (L2).

Did you ever recover and how long? I've been having dizziness and light headed feeling for over a week since HIDA scan.

Your experience sounded so much like mine. I had the HIDA scan this morning, with the CCK injection. I did fine during the testing but when I got home home 45 minutes later, I had horrible cramping and diarrhea with some light nausea. For the last few years, every Dr. I went to ,said my gall bladder was fine. Since January, I've experienced horrible heartburn and discomfort in the left shoulder. Dr's have been unable to find the cause. This HIDA was the 2nd one I have received( 4 years apart). I am also experiencing something in the pancreas area too, like it's swollen.Appt with gastroenterologist 1 week away. What was your outcome?

I’m so glad I checked this forum. I had my test on Friday and it’s now Sunday. I’ve been sick ever since. It was painful but I played that off to my severe spine issues. I’m far from a doctor but I can’t help but think it was a bad idea for spinal steroid injections and then not even 48 hours later the radioactive material from this test.
