I have seen so many people doing the same thing like you. alcohol is not good for body and when it is taken more than limit it becomes addiction that is hard to overcome.

I saw a news article I can't find again, that stated this is the result of our bodies ceasing to produce the enzymes the liver uses to break alcohol down, resulting in almost immediate alcohol poisoning. It sucks. An acquaintance recently took me to my first jimmy buffet concert and "did me the favor" of slipping Cuervo into my strawberry smoothie. I had my first buzz in 31 years. It was awesome. . . .for about 25 minutes. I was throwing up by the time we made the parking lot; full recovery was 4 days. I hear they are trying to reproduce enzyme for sale.

I just found this thread and I have the same problem, though it doesnt make e throw up. I became intolerant to alcohol 4 years ago, suddenly and for no recognizable reason. I was just looking on the internet to see if anyone else had the same problem and I found this page! I used to be able to drink a few (3 or 4 was my limit) and be fine with maybe a slight hangover the next day. Now if I even have one drink My face and body swell up, I get a headache and I feel nauseous. The next day is a nightmare rendering me completely useless. It effects me for 1-3 days after I drink. I have tried all kinds of different alcohols thinking I was allergic to some, but it seems to be all of them that do this and no end in sight.

Thankfully, it was after college, before I started down the road of Russian Roulette drinking. I too thought maybe maybe I had a histamine, or some other type of allergic reaction to various alcohols. So, I tried to pin down if it was what I drank or how much I drank, before vomiting my toenails up for 24 hours. There was no rhyme or reason to what made me violently ill.

Over time, all alcohol made me vomit; just like having food poisoning. I have been the DD for the last 30 years. It's no fun, and I wish it was otherwise.

Just wondering though-my metabolism is off, when it comes to marijuana and anesthesias. They don't work well (if at all) on me. Does anyone else have a similar issue? Maybe they are related.

Most people don't know this but men have hormonal fluctuation cycles similar to a women's menstrual cycle (in a way men also get periods), the reason that it seems to happen around the time of your wife's menstruation could be to do with that (and that people's menstruation cycles often sync up), try to avoid drinking alcohol around that time of the month when your hormones are fluctuating (if you're not sure when that is then take note of when you get the symptoms from drinking and expect to get them again if you drink 20 - 30 days from that time, you might also notice you get a little moody or depressed around that time as well). Women often are more susceptible to the effects of alcohol when they drink around the time of their periods, it makes sense that may be the case for many men as well.

I agree! Mine was adrenal fatigue fatigue too. I had 2 tiny drinks once and barely remember leaving the bar with the bar with my husband. Everybody thought I was drugged! I had dry heaves all night long and half the next day...yes, from 2 drinks that were mainly ice. Since getting my adrenal supplement & in a healthier lifestyle I've had no problems since.

I have drank a lot over the years and at one stage i would say i was a very big drinker at least 10 to 12 points on saturday night followed by vodkas and whiskeys. Over time i started to notice after i drank maybe 6 points of stout i would feel ill. This eventually became 3 2 1 till i could no longer drink the black stuff. Not long after i found the same thing happened with most other drinks. I get hot ears and a rash on my face. I get sick the next day so on and so on. The only drink that does not make me sick is cider. I have cut back on drinking. The best way to beat this problem for me was to figure out what drink made me the least ill (cider) i also cut back on how much i smoked on a night out which was easy 20 cigs on the night. The last step i took was to cut back on the amount i drank. I now feel fine after a night out if i stick to these changes. But if i dont the next few days are bad like head in the toilet bowl six seven times a day after drinking. Hope this helps. If you cant be a good example be a good lesson.

Have you determined the reason why your body reacts to a relatively small amount of alcohol consumption? Thx.

This is quite a late response to your post but in re green slime, I had a friend pass away due to liver malfunction. He was suffering PTSD from his time in the military, drank alcohol several days a week, and often vomited in the same pattern as you. In his last year of life, the green slime (some of it foamy too) came more often.
I don't know the best treatment to avoid exacerbating YOUR condition, but from personal experience w my friend's death, I urge you to stop drinking 100%.

I have the same reactions once in a while! Have not figured out what it is, though white wine seems to be a culprit. It is like poisoning when it happens, starts early morning hours the day after drinking and it can be two to three glasses of wine. The vomiting is very violent and continues every half hour to hour for 12 hours or so. I drink some beer once in a while,
not much else anymore. Curious if your naturopath helped you?
It is an odd thing for sure. I have a sister with the same inability to process alchohol.

VIOLA = a name for a woman (short for Violet) or, a the name of a musical instrument.

VOILA on the other hand is French , pronounced VWA LA meaning ; ""There it is".

America has messed up the English language, at least try and leave the French language alone!

Hi..
I am a 40 yr old white male. I have had issues over the last year with hangovers. They started after 5 beers, then only 4, 3, 2 and now i cant even have 1 drink without immediate nausea, inability to sleep and stomach pains for almost 2 days. I have tried gluten free drinks, histamine blockers, hang over pills, electrolyte drinks, amino acid drinks, a shot of olive oil, hang over pills, active yeast and nausea medication.. you name it. Nothing i have done has eased the symptoms. I have visited the doctor and he checked my liver and it is fine. It is obvious that my liver is not producing the necessary enzyme to break down alcohol. I am trying to find anything that will allow me to even enjoy 1 drink. I don't mind being the DD for low key nights, but it is not fun on the 'big nights'. Has anyone had any success with any over the counter ways to minimize symptoms?
