I have this same problem, with the migraines after one drink. I'm 40, female. Has anyone figured this out?

I believe it has something to do with the vagus nerve and dysautonomia. The alcohol irritates or disrupts communication via the gut vagus nerve connection and gastroparesis is the result. I too suffered this phenomena for years and finally found an answer. Some theories on dysautonomia is that it can be caused by vaccine injury. Nevertheless it's a bummer. Some things that have helped me are Dr Mercola's probiotics and making sure my blood sugar levels are stable and using extreme caution.

After suffering for more than 2 years and going to multiple GPs and trying out diets, I figured out that I was suffering from alcohol induced migraine. The migraine in turn was triggered because my body has developed some sort of allergic reaction alcohol (irrespective of what type of alcohol).
So, I've been taking 1 dose of cetrizine - 10mg (anti histamine) about an hour before I go out drinking and the issue has magically disappeared. Happy to say that not even a single episode for the past 4 weeks.
Alcohol - increases histamine (allergy reaction) - triggers migraine - causing hangover like headache, nausea, etc

The same thing was happening to my son. He ended up in the ER four times this year. It ended up being a reaction to smoking marijuana, the alcohol is just a huge irritant. The condition is called Cannibinoid Hyperemisis Syndrome. There is another condition unrelated to pot and it’s called Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome, it has the same symptoms. Marijuana is used medicinally because it has a soothing effect on the part of the brain stem that tells you to vomit, however on some people it has the reverse effect. This may or may not relate to your situation, I hope I didn’t offend anyone.

If your face is reddened/blotchy, you are likely intolerant ... maybe even heading towards an actual allergy. There are different types of alcohol intolerances. My face turns bright red, my cheeks burn and itch for a day to 3 after a glass of red wine or sangria. I rarely drink, but each time my symptons worsen.

I am now 30, quit drinking at 27 because waking up with liquor on my breath and sweating liquor in the shower had me concerned I would die if i didn't quit. I just gave it up one day. I fell into the trap of codeine addiction shortly after, I was craving some sort of a high. So if you quit, ensure you don't just replace your addiction like I did.
. However, now, if I even sip any alcohol I get basically an instant hangover, no drunk phase. It has gotten so bad that when I caught a whiff of an open vodka bottle I nearly hurled.
So if you quit, and try to pick up where you left off, odds are you won't get along with alcohol anymore (and I am happy that I can't drink!)

I am a 21 year old who has experienced the exact same thing! I am also just diagnose for lactose intolerance and have recently felt as though I can only have half a drink before I feel nauseous. It’s super frustrating because I am suddenly awaken and have to go and puke in the morning after having one drink. I have no clue what to do about it

Has anyone learned anything about this?
I have also had these symptoms after one drink. I have over the past for
4 years been sick over any type (not experimenting on purpose, just never believing it would keep on happening).
The time frame used to be about 4 hours from last drink and like you it didnt matter that I had 1 at 5 and 1 at 10...not buzzed even...ate food, hydrated...yadda yadda....sick by 2am...shakes, puking, diarrhea, anxiety...horrible. I finally just stopped even having a half of something because I could feel the anxiety building even at a half, its so terrible.
Like you, I quit, but socially I wish I could have one.

I just came across this. What you have said is word for word what has happened to me...deep fatigue and general "yuck" feeling. There is alcohol all around me and nobody understands why I literally can't touch a drop. Did anything else about your lifestyle change around the time it started for you? Diet, weight changes, anything you can think of? I have seen several doctors, who basically dismiss it because all my tests have come back clear. They aren't interested in finding a solution, I suppose it's not their job.

Do you know what causes this deficiency to come on all of sudden at a point in someone's life?

I too think this might be the case for me. What were your symptoms? I don't get sick but really hung over feeling right away after just a first sip and then the whole next day or two. Sometimes a good workout will also result in the same feelings. Also multivitamins do the same thing. Which supplements did you take?

Mondave wines gave me nightmares. Vodka caused horrendous leg cramps even in upper leg, You probably need magnesium. You might also check for diverticulosis which has made it impossible for me to drink any alcohol or over eat. Have to chew everything to a pulp or will end up in bathroom. Often follows with leg cramps. Wear leg warmers, Am 64. Life style change. Avoid eating out too often as well because of MSG. Best wishes for better health.
