Hey.... I've also had this issue... but then i tried what's recommended on wikipedia: tretinoin + AHA peeling. it worked rather quickly for me. the only problem is... tretinoin is prescribed only for acne. however you can get it from abroad if you like. it's actually cheaper than seeing your doctor in the US / Europe.

I am 29 and some how just noticed that i have both ppp and fordcye spot's, I recently broke up with my ex and she tells me she has hpv and had it the whole time, so i freaked out and went to the clinic and they said it was ppp and fordyce spots NOT WARTS. Turns the gril was lying about hte hpv, but it scared the ***edited by moderator*** ** inappropriate posting** out of me, but the point is i noticed them, i dont have any money to get the removed, My question is is that in my case the ppp part seem's to be popping up since she lyed to me, i Read that they decrease with age, so at what age will they stop poping up? and go on the down hill decline??

I'm 15 and a half years of age, and I've had PPP since I was around 12. I've not really been bothered by it. They're small, and I would not try to pop them, I tried doing it on one and it got slightly bigger... I found and I can imagine it could get infected or scar or something, so do not do it.

I was relieved when I found out they were not an STD, I'm not considering getting laser surgery on it either, until like I feel it becomes a problem and I wouldn't worry about it.

Don't be so paranoid I am 36 year old male and I too have Fordyce's Spots and PPP. I can also say women even have their own version of PPP know as vestibular papillomatosis of the vulva or Hirsuties papillaris vulvae. I can assure you that you can have a normal healthy sex life. Most women are totally accepting about the situation. I just think this is something that should be taught in school, maybe then teens wouldn't be so freaked out about their own perfectly normal body. I have heard and read about complaints about sebaceous glands, fordyces's spots and ppp and these are normal fears and curiosities, but remember to always consult a doctor. It is way more common than you probably think.

First off, Pearly penile papules are very normal and you dun have to worry or fret too much about them. They appear in like.. almost 25% of the male population. - Removing them are optional and should be for cosmetic reasons only...

To answer some of the questions here,

PPP usually appears for guys between 20 - 30, though younger cases as young as age 15 has been reported. They usually start growing in number (as in most actively) during the first few years of your puberty and thereafter, ie, age between 18 - 25.

After at which, the increase in numbers stops. The papules will remain there, though as you age, it gets smaller and seems lesser (usually age 35 and above)

If you are thinking about having them remove surgically, the recommended treatment is CO2 laser. The advance in laser treatment technology have improved over the years and becos it is laser targeted, the surround skin is not affected. Chances of scarring is also very unlikely.

The downside is, it can be very expensive and outpatient recovery needs due care for it can be pretty painful as there will be swelling and soreness (usually lasting 1 - 2 weeks)

Still, the CO2 laser is the only treatment so far, according to some medical reports, to be the safer surgery without scarring your precious. =)

To me, the penis is first and foremost a sensitive part of the body that provides great pleasure. No way would I ever consider having someone cut or operate on my penis unless it was absolutely necessary.
Tea tree oil method is one of the most used homemade treatments for removing pearly penile papules.

Well I haven't told my mum and dad yet and I have fordyce spots. It's a horrible things and I do believe there are more spots appearing by the minute... It's very disturbing to know what would happen if somebody knew. I'm 14, but when i'm older I definately know it won't stop a girl having sex with you if you tell her it's harmless. If you are thinking about having laser treastment, don't. Keep it to yourself if you want to, a private thing that you don't want anyone to know except your girlfriend in the future (or if you are seeking a male, your boyfriend). I read online that there is a cream that you rub over the spots and eventually they will go. This sounds like a good way of getting rid of them, but this means you have to tell your parents, so they can order it. Don't be afraid, tell your dad if you're a boy and i'm sure he will understand. Obviously your dad will have to tell your mum, but at least you don't have to! If you have a brother or sister, you don't have to tell them. I won't tell mine because she annoys me loads and since i'm still going to school, she may spread it... If it gets really bad, go see your doctor. There is no point leaving something that is getting worse. Hopefully this helps you and other people who are reading this aswell.
