I am currently living in East Germany and contracted this awful virus about a month ago. It started out with a stuffy nose with slight bleeding then a severe pain in the back of my neck which would not ease up and continued for possibly 2-3 weeks, plus a dull ache over my eyes. My throat was constantly very dry and a slight infection took hold in my sinuses and upper respiratory tract. My voice lowered and I had a red throat although not sore. I visited my general practitioner when I felt as if I was about to die from lack of air raised temp. and sweating profusely from my head but he could not see or find anything wrong with me. Then after about 3 weeks of disrupted sleep, I awoke one morning to a spinning room. I managed to get off my bed then vomitted once only. After realising that I could lift my head vertically without the room spinning, I somehow managed to visit a pharmacy being careful not to rock my head from side to side or bend forward for fear the head pain and vomitting would start. I did have a slight ear ache. I have been taking a herbal remedy for vertigo which dulled the spinning sensation and seems to have lessened the duration of this debilitating condition as it suggested on the phamplet. Now into the 4th week, I am nearly back to normal having caught up on lots of sleep apart from having high pitched tinnitus in both ears and an occasional fitting cough that has changed from totally convulsive to an annoying throat tickle that sets off the coughing.
My remedies. Lots of sleep, drink plenty of fluids, Vertigoheel for vertigo, paracetamol for head ache, Vocalzone throat pastile for ticklish throat, and good friends who can bring you some food during times when your appetite improves.
There is hope as I think that this virus has a limited life span. Best of health to you.

I had it for 4 months in Winter 2015-2016 and it took me a further 6 months after that before I was completely well again. Left me with slight Tinnitus and some hearing tests diagnosed cognitive hearing loss, I may have had the hearing loss before, very difficult to tell but tinnitus was definately caused ny the virus. It was either some kind of really bad reaction to Flu Jab or one of these super viruses, either way it was shocking. Loads of Bloods, visits to Infectious diseases and ENT failed to diagnose anything.

It's the middle of the night. My daughter just puked in my bed. For days she has complained of a headache. She was still able to function but didn't feel good. Tonight she got really bad and came in my room where she barfed. Sounds like a terrible virus. How long did it last for u?

I'm 31 from Pittsburgh. This started 2 days ago for me. I never get headaches and this one is extreme. I thought I was going to have a stroke or annurism. It runs from the back of my neck up to the front sides of my head. I've been just exhausted and sleeping 14-16 hours a day. As soon as I move I get this loud ringing in my head and the room just starts spinning. Is it worth going to the doctor or just wait it out?

I'm in Rockhampton qld and so far 2 of my friends and my mother (ages ranging from 31-63) have come down with something similar . All have been rushed to medical care and spent some time in hospital with suspected stroke symptoms. It comes in waves and effects mobility and consciousness along with a massive headache. One of my friends were hospitalised for 5 days after 4 of these attacks and still (several days later) doesn't have full control of his right leg and face but stroke has been ruled out and spine MRI says there is no nerve damage.

My son had this last week for 3-4 days and he slept all the time no appetite now i have the headaches and a fever first three day, vomited 1 time. Started Saturday at noon and I still have it. Dr said there is nothing he can give me except if I were still vomiting. I have missed two days of work now and I still have it. Thursday a LITTLE better still no appetite. Dr said lots and lots of fluids, Advil as directed on label and lots of rest/sleep. He did not know if it was contagious but said just take precautions around other people let them know make sure everyone including self washes hands and disposes any food or drinks. good luck everyone..

I had this and went to the doctor, he said it's a summer virus going around that lasts 4-5 days. Starts with a mild fever, around 99.6, then peaks on day 2/3 with much higher fever, and then goes away by day 5. super shitty and absolutely drains you. He said not much you cankdo except take Tylenol of your fever is 101 of higher.

Yes i have had a bad headache, nausea, and dizzy light headed symptoms for the past 7 days. Went to doctor and have had blood work ran 3 times and nothing showing up. Today is my 1st day i feel better. I have been taken congestion pills and Maalox.
