Can anyone help me with some advice, please...
I am a 34 year old women, never had any children and have never been on any kind of birth control. I am BBW (fat). I have had normal periods since my first cycle started until 3 months ago. I was heavy bleeding for always 2 weeks so I called my OBGYN and made an appointment. He checked everything out, said things looked surprisingly and reassuringly good and I had a PAP smear. He gave me some medication that stopped the bleeding and made it start up again after the ending of the medication (said like a cleaning out). He said that everything should be back on track after that. Well, I got my period when I was supposed to the following month, but it was much different then I am used to. First of all I have been bleeing for 10 days. The first 4 days were barely noticable. The 6 days following those are for me abnormal. I experienced light bleeding for a few days but had extremely large frequent clotting. I then experienced heavy bleeding with less frequent clotting but still large. I don't know what to do. I am still bleeding and clotting. Should I call my doctor? Should I wait a few more days? Could this just be my body's way of adjusting? My doctor said one of the most common reasons for abnormal periods is being overweight. I told him very politely that I agree with that somewhat and would consider it more if I hadn't been heavy my entire life and have never had period issues before. Can someone please please please give me some suggestions and advice.
